Mystere is nifty. ^^ I like Leo a whole lot, and I like how Mystere lends a new dimension to his personality -- he's the archetypal, to put it in D&D terms, Lawful Good, concerned with honour and justice above all, but he's not stuffy and superior like many of that character type -- he's got a p...

Re: illustrations -- 'tis more than fair enough, and your right to do so. It's one of those things that very few English-speaking people will ever actually have the opportunity to buy, so I think it's about as moral as, say, providing a plain text translation; diehards will buy the book anyway, just...

Hehehe. I suppose it isn't so much that I want to torture her as that I don't think she deserves better. Hotheaded, stubborn, certain she'll win, and writing bad poetry...these are not traits to reward. But taking responsibility for her choice and following through if she loses to Ramus might help ...

Hmm, personally I don't think on Lemina's part at least it means she's given it much thought. I think what it means, at least as I see her, is that she's hot-headed, too proud to back down on a challenge and absolutely convinced that she can beat Ramus. She says "I don't intend to lose!", and I don'...

Ooh, yes, collect 'em all syndrome. I'd rather like the other disc zrt version of EBC, too, but I don't quite have enough money to splash on trying to get hold of it, especially since it's the rarer one that I don't have and bidding would probably be through the roof.

...The standing on tables? Teaching hiragana. No kidding. We had to learn a certain set of characters every week, and then the next week they'd be presented to us on flash cards and we'd have to call out the name of the character in a round-robin -- pretty standard. Only if you got one of the charac...

Ahhhh, that makes sense. ^^; I'd been wondering if there were two editions, like there were with the game discs themselves. Kind of useful; keep your favourite cover on the inside to guard against the possibility of damage, p'raps. ^^

Lemina 'ships?

Posted in EB because I haven't quite finished EBC, so I don't know if the plot gets a different resolution in that game.... Okay, so this is just me being curious on what people think. Technically, the canon-ish pairing for Lemina is with Ramus; well, about as canon as you get for something that's b...

EBC strategy guide cover?

I'm desperately after a good-quality, high-res version of the cover of the EBC strategy guide -- better yet, the original image that was used on it (Lemina, Lucia and Jean on Lemina's contraption o' doom); I'm getting the strategy guide myself, but since I don't expect it to arrive for a few weeks (...

I do see your point; a lot of the people in our class were interested heavily in the pop culture, myself included, and I can understand where the "wow, this isn't all genki wai otaku" part would factor in. But equally most of the class were very bright students who were doing well, including some ma...

I'll look forward to it! I promise not to steal them without crediting you. You ought to stamp a "from [x site], not to be redistributed without permission" watermark on the bottom of them, or something.... Doesn't necessarily stop them doing it, but at least other people who visit the site will kno...

KF -- hey, 'tis fair enough, each to their own and all that. As for me, I was just in Tokyo for ten days with my then girlfriend -- partly shopping, partly for the sights. I'd been meant to study in Japan for a year as part of university, but I changed courses because the Japanese teacher at our uni...

I kind of agree with everyone else in going "...Jean, Ruby, Ronfar et al , not main characters?" But if you're using that classification, then Lemina, closely followed by... pretty much everyone else in EB/EBC. It's a rare story for me in that I actually fell in love with pretty much all of the char...

Alunissage: ooh, now I'm kind of vicariously excited. My Lunar: EBC strategy guide ought to be arriving in about... eh, six weeks; something you all already have, no doubt, but I'm a newbie, I'm excited nonetheless. KF-- wow, where'd you go? We did a tour of the anime and comic stores, "mainstream" ...

KF, when'd you go? I'm guessing this was a while ago now....

I went on a doujin hunt in Japan in March last year. A bit harder to find stuff than I thought, especially since the fandom I was searching in was quite small and unpopular, but still came back with a 20+ haul.

So is that where you got the actual hard copies of those novels from? Unless one is in Japan, how does one actually get those to ship to you?

KF -- really? I guess I don't keep up like I should.... I've only heard of novels for two series in total, though assumed there were more: Lunar and Tenchi Muyo. Wow, I suck at being informed. ;)
