Re: Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

I'm sure that rumor was created the very moment some clever person heard that Johnny was playing the Mad Hatter.

I rather like the character design.
And really, what else do you expect from Burton?

Re: GBA Game Search

I would second the Yggdra Union recommendation, and I would also throw my hat in for Golden Sun/sequel. Riviera's great, too. I've also heard really good things about Tactics Ogre: The Knights of Lodis, but I've never played it.

Re: Favorite Films

I'll just go ahead and agree with LunarRaptor.
Lord of the Rings for me.

Now we get to see what Guillermo del Toro does with it.

Re: What are you currently reading?

Just finished the Nausicaa manga.
Good stuff.

Reading The Stand, and then probably Cormac Macarthy's The Road.

I'm just in a really post-apocalyptic mood.

True enough.
They're also messing with Joss Whedon's new series "Dollhouse."

You think they would have learned their lesson.

But I think the movie will come out, Fox's "grievances" aside.

Well, knowing the track record this book has with film adaptions, I wouldn't be too terribly surprised.

Re: Good DS games?

One game that I doubt anyone will mention is Etrian Odyssey. That's one of my favorite ds titles, and the sequel's pretty good too. Izuna:Legend of the Unemployed Ninja (and it's sequel) are great ds games. It's an rpg that's almost like zelda if the monsters moved like they do in lufia. So when yo...

Sooooo...Anybody looking forward to that Watchmen movie?
Or maybe you're just scared that Snyder will royally doodie it up.

One game that I doubt anyone will mention is Etrian Odyssey. It's an RPG in the truest sense of the term. I mean, you even have to make a map of the dungeon with the touch screen. It's intense.

Re: Sequel or Prequel

Comparisons between Lunar and Christianity rarely work out well, but one might make an analogy: people refer to Satan as being the opposite number to God, an evil god. Yet he began as an angel, not a being equivalent with God. Althena and Zophar, and later Lucia, may have been something more like a...

McGregor wasn't in these Batman movies to begin with. No. I don't believe they can continue this one withou Ledger's Joker. There is no villain that can top the Joker, and Ledger made himself into the definitive Joker. So its all downhill from here if they continue past the second movie (a fact pro...

Re: Sequel or Prequel

Although I would prefer a sequel to a prequel, I do have one minor concern about making a sequel. Hiro, Lucia, and their companions defeated Zophar, the equivalent of Satan in the Lunar Universe. How could the sequel possibly top something like that? I've thought that making a sequel set in a futur...

Re: alternative music / Favorite Genre

I guess I'll have to throw in my hat for metal as well. Unfortunately for you traditional metal fans, being very much a child of the past decade, metalcore was really my introduction to metal (I know, that terrible, ain't it?) and it is still very much a part of my listening repertoire. I really fai...

Re: Prince Caspian... (minor spoilers)

All that I'll say about the Trinity is that you can't explain it well enough without running into heresy. And yeah, at times the movie did have a LOTR mood to it, but then again, Jackson has pretty much defined modern fantasy cinema, and has set the tone for a good long while. The river god scene, w...

Re: Prince Caspian... (minor spoilers)

True, true, Susan did get the short end of the stick there, but if Aslan is God in both Narnia and Earth, than such grief and mourning had a purpose for Susan. People react differently to the death of loved ones, but most often they reexamine their lives and try to weed out the temporal chaff. It ca...
