Re: Lunar fan from old-time

Wow that is a crazy story. Reminds me of the two times I lost my Shining Force III save data, but still persevered and beat it. I admire you're dedication, TSS is the best Lunar game IMO. I wish you luck in finishing it, now that you have all those technical difficulties ironed out.

Re: SSST probably going away soon

They actually have a 64-bit beta that's being sent around to test. I actually missed seeing this in between jay_are's and Shinto-Cetra's complaining, which I scroll past rather quickly. Thanks for the news! jay_are, could you try not to quote giant pics in your replies? We only need to see them onc...

Re: What gaming cables do you use?

Have you heard about the OSSC? https://www.videogameperfection.com/products/open-source-converter/ I posed this in another thread you started, but it has since been improved with HDMI out and 3.5 mm audio in. It claims to have zero lag, and also is pricey but not as much as the Framemeister. I don'...

Re: SSST probably going away soon

...maybe I'm just too cynical and jaded here. KF You aren't!!! I mean, at least it's not your fault that you think this way lol. Lunar has indeed been treated as such. BUT! On the neutral side, it is the same for other series too. Just look at Final Fantasy. Supposedly the "best JRPG" ser...

Re: What gaming cables do you use?

Straight HDMI, RGB JP-21 to HDMI via Framemeister, or Component/YPBPR. I don't bother with Composite/S-video anymore (never bothered with RF to begin with). RGB just pwns them. Also just so everyone knows, you actually CAN get fanmade Component cables for Saturn, an ebay seller called Doujindance m...

Interesting. That Nall scratching is really cute. Also it looks like Mia is wearing the robes her mother does (more formal.)

Re: Least favorite Lunar 1 or Lunar 2 character

I didn't actually vote on the poll, but is it wrong that one of my most hated LUNAR characters was Luna in the original TSS? Playing through TSS I didn't really feel anything for her as a character. She's barely with you in the party, and while I'm like "yeah I know the party has to rescue her...

Video meme time! Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand as "sung" by John Truitt. If you don't know the song, I have the slightly revised lyrics on the Youtube page.

Re: Human Nall???

Wow! I remember reading that originally there was going to be a "SEGA CD mode" but this is something else. Maybe there were plans for a L2 rerelease? Maybe the devs were just trolling us? In retrospect, I suspect that was what was up with that Lunar Steam tease in 2015 that nothing came of.

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

If SuperTails66 is the same as Supper on Romhacking forums, then I must say: their romhack is technically proficient (I have not gotten their L:EB patch to work due to hash code weirdness, but their graphical uncensoring of L:TSS is great) but their seething rage against Working Designs for like no ...

Re: Lunar memes

Oh I agree... How is this not a thing? I'm gonna share an older meme here -- as in, about 11 years old (posted this back in the Shrine to Ghaleon boards): pricelessad-kiz1.gif I got about five more of these. This is the only one that's 100% mine -- for the other ones, some other folks on the Shrine...

Re: Lunar Game Comparisons?

Shining Force 1, 2, and CD (which is the same as 1 and 2 for Game Gear) I can't put my finger on it though... the characters and type of story are different, but similar enough that I see parallels. If this had been a spinoff totally unrelated but called 'Lunar - The Shining Force', I would have ac...

Re: What did you like about the GameCube?

Skies of Arcadia. I prefer it to the Dreamcast version, cause of the bounties, and the comical situations they produce (I'm aware the Dreamcast version ha better sound, but it's barely noticeable. unlike many Saturn/SNES games ported to PS1 where I notice a definite drop in audio quality.). I own a ...
