Re: The Original SEGA CD LUNAR Strategy Guides
I'm curious about this as well. I'm pretty sure some of the drawings Kubooka did for the Lunar I+II art book found their way into the original Japanese strategy guides.

Re: Dead Genre Chronicles podcast: Lunar SSSC
Even so, I think it's a tad bit harsh to throw Lunar into the "Avoid At All Costs" pile. It's far from being an unplayable mess. Incidently, I took a gander at some of the other episodes they've posted in the past, and they seem to have a tendency to dump on well-regarded JRPGs (Suikoden I...

Re: Least favorite Lunar 1 or Lunar 2 character
I'd have to agree with your sorting of Nash, but I still think of him as the TSS version who plays a double agent (and gets injured in the process) to get Alex information, rather than the despondent, misguided weakling of SSS. It's like there's some sort of conservation of non-protagonist heroics,...

Re: Small thing I noticed with the pre-release Lunar TSS shots
There's one bit of concept art that may or may not exist anymore and was briefly alluded to in an interview with Shigema and Kubooka. Apparently, Jessica had a tail in an early design. Kubooka: As for Jessica, I wonder how she was... Shigema: Well, Jessica's a beastwoman, she's called a beastwoman. ...

Re: Jessica: strong female character or missed opportunity?
I'll agree with the assessment of Lemina as a selfish brat, though. And I really didn't like the bits I saw of Jess's and Luna's portrayals in SSH either. I never had too many issues with Jess' portrayal, although that cooking scene made me groan (jokes about tomboys who can't cook were getting old...

Re: In defense of Lunar: Legend...
I have some fondness for it since it was my introduction to Lunar, although I admit it's flawed in terms of both localization and difficulty. I thought it was cool that they made Taben a boss, complete with his own mechanical device. It makes me wish they had added him in as a boss in SSH. I also li...

Re: 20 years ago today.
Actually, Kiz, if/when you see this, can you verify that that crash-landing pic is the same in the Japanese game? Seeing as WD was required to add vines to Plantella, it wouldn't surprise me if they had to add the bloomers as well. I'll try to remember to look through the guides and stuff later to ...

I actually watched their coverage of Ambition not long ago. Yeah, they come up with some funny comments. It helps that that particular series is completely bonkers and nonsensical.

Re: Lunar & Grandia on Steam SOON!!
It's a shame that Lunar isn't available in some form on the PSN in America. Lunar SSH is available on PSN for the PS Vita, but I'm really not that fond of that particular remake due to the loading screens and the intro battle, which pretty much spoils the whole plot. After all, we have 90's RPGs lik...

Re: Jessica: strong female character or missed opportunity?
Okay, I think you're waaaaaaaay overthinking Jessica as a character and her role in the story, Greco. I don't think Jessica's dilemma with her father was ever intended to be explored very much in the game. Her monologue to her shadow-self is basically just her choosing to embrace both her girly and ...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Currently playing through Fire Emblem Awakening. This game is so much fun and has a ton of replay value due to all the combinations of pairings you can come up with, and the support conversations are so funny and sweet. I also recently bought Suikoden II off of the PSN, and it's really engaging so f...

Greetings
I've been a Lunar fan since I purchased a copy of Lunar Legends, before eventually getting ahold of a copy of Lunar 2 EBC for the PSX. Of the two games I much prefer Lunar 2 due to its more complex storyline and cast of characters. As my username suggests, I'm a huge Hunter X Hunter fan, and Leorio ...
