Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

I've made a bit more progress, but I'm not there yet. I took a look at the source code to AVItoSaturn, which is the only Saturn community tool I know of that produces Saturn-playable Cinepak videos. Unfortunately, it turns out it doesn't actually have a Cinepak encoder at all; it uses the builtin Wi...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

Made some more progress in the last bit! I've been working on FMV tooling on and off for a few months now, and it's finally paying off. I've been adding support for creating Saturn FMVs to an open source program called FFmpeg; it's basically the video swiss army knife, with support for a huge number...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

Sorry I haven't posted much in the past couple of months. Progress is still ongoing, but the stuff I've been working on isn't (yet) pretty enough to show off. I did just complete the font generation tool though, so I have a complete copy of the English font inserted in both versions of the game. For...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

Yes Wachenröder, great SRPG! Glad to see you looked into it. I never saw Westone mentioned in the credits, only SEGA and ADX. Looks like this is one of those misunderstandings that makes its way around the internet! It's credited to Westone frequently, but looks like it's not them. GDRI lists it as...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

Are you planning on any work outside of LUNAR for the Sega Saturn? The Saturn is my favourite game console! Any other translations I work on will probably be Saturn games. :D No promises, but there are a few things I've been thinking about doing/looking at after I finish the three Lunar games: &sdo...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Someone is actually translating the sega Saturn version? That would be great, I bought the game ages ago but it's too hard to play in Japanese. I did a video series for Walking School and would love to do one for this. Mind if I ask how far along it is? The hacking is ~85% complete. We have everyth...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

I feel like I should have noticed that the WD version has full-on sepia, but nope, didn't catch it. I didn't notice it myself until I was working on retiming the audio! Pretty obvious when I was looking at the two of them side-by-side though. Here's what they both look like: https://i.imgur.com/NDj...

Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

I know I noticed that WD altered the opening sequence, since I watched the Saturn version enough to commit it to memory, (effects of years of anticipation and being a teenager I guess, :D) but I never noticed other alterations! I would love to know more about them if you have a chance. Here's a lis...

Re: where is SoMoGa and the lunar sega cd upgrade that promised?

there were also images of this version in the files of the app and the original music of sega cd , but now there is nothing new and apparently no longer there. The files from the Sega CD version are still in the game; they were never removed. I haven't checked to see if there's any code for that co...

Saturn translation [in progress!]

As I mentioned in my other thread , I've been working on translating Magical School Lunar! for Saturn. I've also been working on translating Silver Star Story! I'm planning on using the original translation from the PS1 version, including WD's English dub; I'll also be providing an option to play wi...

64-bit release is out now! There’s a 64-bit release of Vay to go with it, too.

The compatibility section in TestFlight says it requires iOS 8.0 or later, so you should be fine.

Yeah, I'm impressed with the beta so far! Shaping up to be a nice update, even leaving aside the 64-bit angle.

Re: English script

Supper's wdtools repository has a tool to extract text from SSSC on PS1: https://github.com/suppertails66/wdtool ... ss_txt.cpp It'd take a bit of work to get the output in a more convenient format, but it's definitely doable.

What's this song?

I was looking at the music in the Saturn version of Lunar 2, and I came across this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwNyFikBfCU For the life of me, I can't figure out what it is! It's not in the Sega CD or PS1 versions, which leads me to think it's probably not used. It's only on the second dis...

Sorry about that - sent you the fixed version!

There are two spreadsheets; one has the dialogue, and the other has all of the menu text, which includes spell/item/monster names and so on.

SSST *not* going away soon (title updated!)

Apple's discontinuing 32-bit app support with iOS 11, and there still hasn't been a 64-bit update to Lunar Touch. :/ Apple's been warning developers since 2014, and any app updates since June 2015 have required the app to include 64-bit support. Maybe that's why there hasn't been a patch since May 2...

Re: Human Nall???

Interesting that the entire Sega CD script is present, no copyright concerns using Working Designs old material? Yeah, I wondered about that. There aren't any voice tracks present, even though the soundtrack is there, which makes me wonder how they planned on dealing with that. wrt script, maybe th...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Would you mind sending me a copy of the script also, just for my general Lunar records? My knowledge of Japanese is minimal (a little less minimal than it used to be, but still pretty much epsilon compared to fluency), but I hope to eventually gain a level or two in it. Sure thing! Just PM me your ...
