Re: Saturn translation [in progress!]

I know I noticed that WD altered the opening sequence, since I watched the Saturn version enough to commit it to memory, (effects of years of anticipation and being a teenager I guess, :D) but I never noticed other alterations! I would love to know more about them if you have a chance. Here's a lis...

Re: where is SoMoGa and the lunar sega cd upgrade that promised?

there were also images of this version in the files of the app and the original music of sega cd , but now there is nothing new and apparently no longer there. The files from the Sega CD version are still in the game; they were never removed. I haven't checked to see if there's any code for that co...

Saturn translation [in progress!]

As I mentioned in my other thread , I've been working on translating Magical School Lunar! for Saturn. I've also been working on translating Silver Star Story! I'm planning on using the original translation from the PS1 version, including WD's English dub; I'll also be providing an option to play wi...

64-bit release is out now! There’s a 64-bit release of Vay to go with it, too.

The compatibility section in TestFlight says it requires iOS 8.0 or later, so you should be fine.

Re: SSST probably going away soon

Yeah, I'm impressed with the beta so far! Shaping up to be a nice update, even leaving aside the 64-bit angle.

Re: English script

Supper's wdtools repository has a tool to extract text from SSSC on PS1: https://github.com/suppertails66/wdtool ... ss_txt.cpp It'd take a bit of work to get the output in a more convenient format, but it's definitely doable.

What's this song?

I was looking at the music in the Saturn version of Lunar 2, and I came across this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwNyFikBfCU For the life of me, I can't figure out what it is! It's not in the Sega CD or PS1 versions, which leads me to think it's probably not used. It's only on the second dis...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Sorry about that - sent you the fixed version!

There are two spreadsheets; one has the dialogue, and the other has all of the menu text, which includes spell/item/monster names and so on.

SSST *not* going away soon (title updated!)

Apple's discontinuing 32-bit app support with iOS 11, and there still hasn't been a 64-bit update to Lunar Touch. :/ Apple's been warning developers since 2014, and any app updates since June 2015 have required the app to include 64-bit support. Maybe that's why there hasn't been a patch since May 2...

Re: Human Nall???

Interesting that the entire Sega CD script is present, no copyright concerns using Working Designs old material? Yeah, I wondered about that. There aren't any voice tracks present, even though the soundtrack is there, which makes me wonder how they planned on dealing with that. wrt script, maybe th...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Would you mind sending me a copy of the script also, just for my general Lunar records? My knowledge of Japanese is minimal (a little less minimal than it used to be, but still pretty much epsilon compared to fluency), but I hope to eventually gain a level or two in it. Sure thing! Just PM me your ...

Re: Human Nall???

Huh, yeah, maybe it was meant to tie into a Lunar 2 release that never happened. There's lots of files left over from the Sega CD version - looks like they got pretty far in developing a Sega CD mode before it was dropped. There's a full soundtrack, full set of script and data files in both language...

Human Nall???

When digging through the files in the iOS version of Silver Star Story, I came across something weird... http://i.imgur.com/9cBEC83.png Human Nall?! He has a full set of portraits, in both the original and high-res sizes, and there's also a partial set of sprites for him taken from Eternal Blue. The...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Don't worry - I've got a fully-extracted copy of the script. :) It's about 250,000 characters - not sure how that translates into an English word count. I really appreciate the offer of help! And I agree with you that a translation that's fun to read is the biggest priority. A lot of 90s RPG transla...

I'm really enjoying that album, Kizr!

One of my favourite bands released a new album last week, and I've been listening to it a ton. (Video not available in the US or Australia. :?)

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Yeah, I'm not opposed to appropriate localization - I don't mind if the text drifts away from the literal meaning as long as it keeps the feel. Thanks so much! I suspect I'll be taking advantage of that. :) I'd really love to have you work on it if the timing can work out. I'm working on translating...

Re: Hi all!

Yeah! Eternal Blue's my favourite too, and I always liked the original more than the Saturn/PS1 version. I haven't played the remake since it came out, so maybe I'd have a different opinion now, but I always felt like it didn't completely recapture the feel of the original - and unlike SSS, it didn'...

Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

After I bought a copy of Magical School Lunar! a few months ago, I was disappointed that there wasn't an English version, so I started digging into it. I've been working together with Suppertails66 (who made the "Unworked Designs" patches for the Sega CD and PS1 Lunar games), and we have p...

Hi all!

Hi! I'm Misty - new to the forums but Lunar fan since the 90s. I fell in love with SSSC back when it came out for PS1, and played Eternal Blue for Sega CD right after. I replay Eternal Blue every few years, and also got back into Lunar lately when I picked up a copy of Magical School Lunar! at a ret...
