The Soundtracks - Updated!

We've updated our Soundtracks section! And a major update it is. We now have detailed packaging images, updated tracklists (and translations), and selected audio clips, for all 14½ official soundtracks of the Lunar series! The soundtracks include all of the various music (original in-game versions, ...

Re: LN Book Club! Currently about: 1984, (we can add more)

Yeah I was curious to hear your take on the language element, Sonic#, especially given your background/expertise. (For me, "I'm fixing to make a run for coffee" might not pass everyone's muster; strict SAE people might wince at using "fixing to" as a verb to mean "getting re...

Re: The Artbooks - Updated!

Y'all know that I typically suggest adding like 3 years onto any ages the creators of the series offer for their characters. Everyone is always given an arbitrarily young age -- the only one who's original age is believable is Lemina. The drinking age in Japan is 20, by the way. In my observation it...

Re: What to update?

Hey, just FYI, the next thing I'm updating will be the soundtracks. I've been making some good progress so far, so hope to have that done before this weekend. After that I think will be All the Lunar. (Was putting that off since that requires a bit more effort.) Then, I might go back to the Timeline...

Re: Jessica: strong female character or missed opportunity?

Is it explicit that Jessica never came to govern Meribia herself, though? I can think of reasons why she'd choose not to, but I don't remember it being said outright that she didn't. I haven't seen anything confirming (or even hinting) at whether or not she governed Meribia at all later in life. I'...

Re: Lunar featured once again on Game Sack

Um, would it make sense to split off the discussion on BotW's music (or other characteristics) to another thread? I absolutely like the discussion on it, but if y'all want to continue then it'd be less cluttered to split the thread. If so, Alun you can feel free to, or I can go ahead and do so (...w...

So... the latest update is a little delayed. I'm nearly done though -- I wanted to translate another section of the artbooks so that's taking me an extra day to complete. Expect an update tomorrow (Tuesday). KF

Re: LN Book Club! Currently about: 1984, (we can add more)

Ah, yeah, reading 1984 is actually incredibly helpful for understanding, given how frequently it or its memes are referenced. (Much more than I've noticed for, say, Brave New World or The Handmaid's Tale... although admittedly I haven't read those, so maybe there're plenty of references people make ...

Re: Activism, Social Justice, Protests and you: The Political Discussion Containment Thread

Hey, I'm putting up a quick guide I initially posted to Facebook (which is itself a shorter form of my longer activism guide) here to spread it a bit more... Once again, full guide is here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Jm-n9hOdwbJSRUYTAKy217kmC1cwcsUz5ZzqBRQ1c28/edit?usp=sharing First a b...

I watched the Slayers movies (all 5 of them.) Lolol Lina and Naga...Now I need to get back to the TV series (I left off in the middle of season 2) though I must say I will miss Naga. IIRC she was not allowed into the TV series cause of her wardrobe (or lack thereof...OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHO.) Yeah I stil...

Re: Jessica: strong female character or missed opportunity?

In-game NPC dialogue and the Lunatic Festa drama CD seem to imply that she moved out of Mel's mansion to live with Kyle.* It makes sense to me that she wouldn't inherit her dad's estate, since in Lunar 2 Lunn was governor and had converted it to a dojo. I'm pretty sure the estate belonged to Jessic...

Re: Song of the moment

I listen to a fair amount of French hip hop, and one of my favorite artists, Medine, released a new album earlier this month. There's one song I'd like to link on there (Enfant du Destin - Nour) but it's a little graphic due to the subject matter (on the attempted genocide of the Rohingya in Myanmar...

LN Book Club! Currently about: 1984, (we can add more)

I was thinking of starting a book discussion here. I don't want to do a typical book club (where we all read one thing and discuss -- partly because I'm a slow reader, and partly because I'm not sure we'd have enough people on-board). Rather, we can pick something that either (a) many folks have rea...

Re: Our cat is pretty great.

So Prel (where did her name come from?) is older than ours. Our first five (not counting our very first cat who passed away in 2014) were all born in summer/fall 2007. "Prel" was a random combo of sounds that Jenner put together 'cause it sounded right. This is our bunny boy, Aliquot. He ...
