Slayers surprisingly (and much to my joy) holds up great 20 years later! I have the box set for Slayers, Slayers Next, and Slayers Try. Need to set aside some time to watch/re-watch them soon.... KF

Re: Long time no post!

Heeeyyyy! Yeah I remember! There's been a lot that's happened in the last decade... Wow... Yeah... Lots more people married also. Jenner and I are the only ones married to one another, but yeah most folks are married (and some didn't tell us 'til like months later!). And some have kids (and also did...

Re: What is Canon?

I don't want to discuss the "what ifs" and "coulds" though...I want to discuss what we already have available. The facts and what makes canon with those facts. We could discuss "what ifs" and coulds" all day lmao! We are the most popular LUNAR fans out there! :P Y...

Re: Activism, Social Justice, Protests and you: The Political Discussion Containment Thread

Just a bit of an addendum... I know the folks who interrupted DHS Secretary Nielsen's dinner last night in DC. Since that direct protest, folks have contacted us saying there's renewed energy among existing protests/demonstrations at ICE detention facilities and other places/companies that aid in de...

Re: Activism, Social Justice, Protests and you: The Political Discussion Containment Thread

Yeah things are getting dire... I've been saying before that the lies and generalizations about groups (immigrants, Mexicans, Muslims, and so on) aren't just lies but signals of what the administration is going to do next. I made a longer post on Facebook on this, but also with several things people...

Re: Differences between Sega and PS1 Versions

I liked Luna coming with you. I liked her scene when she meets Ghaleon. One of my favorite scenes in the entire game! That and the 3 sisters revealing themselves. I also found TSS way TOO easy. For someone who just played it for the first time...The game was way too simple. Having magic with Alex m...

Re: Eid Mubarak! / !عيد مبارك

Eid Mubarak! Yesterday was Eid-ul-Fitr marking the end of Ramadan. It was also an eventful month as I started a new job. (Some of my biggest positive milestones happened in Ramadan: my first professional job, this new one, proposing to Jenner, closing on our house, etc.). Wishing a blessed time to e...

Re: What is Canon?

I'll start with what can be said most definitively and go from there. First, the games are all canon, as far as statements by creators go regarding what really happened on Lunar and the Blue Star (unfortunately this includes Dragon Song, fortunately this includes Magic School). Second, where this ge...

Re: The "other" presidential joke

Huh, interesting. I thought that the whole deal behind that mod was to get rid of the WD translation... I think most of the old references I'm so-so on. The only ones I really don't like are the ones that replaced actual content in the original (like the "killing Barney made easy" one that...

Re: Last Anime?

The TV show it focused more on the next generation of heroes after Parn, Deedlit, Etoh, etc. I admittedly haven't seen much of it, but the animation budget went way down. Ah ok. The OVA then is the one that I watched -- I don't remember any characters after Parn/Deedlit and them (except seeing artw...

Re: Making this thread so that I can ask questions that probably have short answers

For what it's worth, Eternal Blue is the name of the Japanese game as well. I mean, the Japanese devs gave the game an English name; it's not translated. This was also the case with all other Lunar games except the two Magic School ones. Also the only name changes (Japanese to English) were changin...

Re: Last Anime?

I just finished my rewatch, and can confirm that Lodoss does indeed hold up. The OVA anyway, I've never had much interest in the TV series. Ok I'm bad at remembering... which one was which? The one I watched and had the VHS box set for was the same one where the first few eps were shown on SciFi's ...

I haven't had the chance to play through all of the Windows SSS (just test it out to see that it works, and pull some files for the site). But, it doesn't surprise me that they had to... cut a few corners... to get it to work on PCs in that era. Then again consoles from around then weren't more powe...

In pouring through the assets I didn't find any art that was actually new. Though if I recall, there are some new music assets/files there.

Also I didn't notice earlier: $45 CAD is a fantastic price for this. Because of its rarity, it used to go for anywhere from $90 to $150 USD. KF

Re: Last Anime?

Rewatching Record of Lodoss War to satiate the lack of real Elves in modern anime (Deedlit<3). Anything with Japanese high school Elves or MMO Elves doesn't count. Crunchyroll got the recent re-release of Record of Lodoss War OVAs. I haven't seen it since Sci-Fi used to broadcast the first four OVA...

I've had a tough time getting this to work on different later OSes (especially Windows XP and Win7 -- had to install a pre-Unicode language pack and trick it into thinking the entire system was Japanese). What OS are you using and did you have to do anything special to get it working? KF

Re: I visit this site once and a while because...

The only thing I can say about the community is a lot of the long-time members & founders here I'm guessing came from the WD boards. I remember lurking the WD boards but never joined or posted (I guess just never felt the need to). In that respect it's good that LUNAR fandom continues but indee...
