Re: Is Mystere a separate character from Leo?

Ok I don't have all my resources on-hand with me at work, but here's what it boils down to: Lunar EB (Sega CD): Leo and Mystere are verifiably different characters. Lunar EBC (Saturn/PS): It's not possible to determine if they're different, so I'm carrying across the same conclusion from Lunar EB. B...

Re: Activism, Social Justice, Protests and you: The Political Discussion Containment Thread

There's a series of Nazi rallies that are planned across my home state (Tennessee) next weekend. Mostly in Shelbyville, but it seems like they're also trying to have separate ones in Murfreesboro (near Nashville) and near Knoxville last I heard. ...I need to do some more research on what counter-dem...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I'm playing Shadowrun: Dragonfall (Director's Cut) right now. This game is really good. Seriously. Besides the background world of Shadowrun and the interface (much like the previous game Shadowrun Returns), this one sets you in the middle of the Berlin Flux State (a brief 10-15 year period when Ber...

Re: Small thing I noticed with the pre-release Lunar TSS shots

There's one bit of concept art that may or may not exist anymore and was briefly alluded to in an interview with Shigema and Kubooka. Apparently, Jessica had a tail in an early design. Kubooka: As for Jessica, I wonder how she was... Shigema: Well, Jessica's a beastwoman, she's called a beastwoman....

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

So I got a great gaming laptop and some new games on my to-play list (the rest of Shadowrun, the new Life Is Strange: Before the Storm prequel, etc.). So maybe I'm playing one of that? Naw, forget about it. I finally got a Windows 3.1 emulator working on my PC so I'm gonna go back to one of the clas...

The Great American Eclipse

Hey! Did anyone manage to see the eclipse back on August 21st? (...sorry I probably should post a little more often) I drove down to Nashville so we could be in the path of totality. It worked out just perfect: the clouds opened up long enough for us to see it all, and we just had to set out on my m...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Uh, hey Misty -- I think you tried to send over a new version of the script (sounds like it just had control characters fixed up) but forgot to include the attachment? BTW I will say that I rather like having the script in spreadsheet form... It'd make it easier to cross-reference and translate in t...

Ah ok! Here go with some of the translations (spot translations only, so some of these could be cleaned up): For Nall scratching.jpg Ten looks for Nall Lunar has amazing animation in its opening and all, but it also has plenty of characteristics in its sprites. Check out how good Nall's various expr...

It's kind of unsurprising, though, that there was no interest in updating SSST so that it could work with the 64-bit update. It's just... the series since Lunar: Legend has kind of ...

Re: What gaming cables do you use?

When you say component cables, do you mean composite cables? Component cables have 5 plugs (Red, White, Red (again), green, and blue). Composite cables are the red, white, and yellow cables. Ah yes, I meant composite cables (corrected my earlier post). I'm not sure off-hand what my PS2 uses -- coul...

It's been a while but I realize I have more to say/reply on this! Especially since we're getting knee-deep into dialect issues. One of the articles we looked at was this one by Vershawn Ashanti Young, a composition and rhetoric scholar who chose to write in AAVE (or as he prefers, Black English) to ...

Hm, bit of background, my father is a major WW2 history buff (Churchill's multi-volume "The Second World War" is one of the first things he read outside of school), both of us have a deep love of history (though in different areas), and we both appreciate good war movies -- think being abl...

Eid Mubarak! Today is Eid-ul-Adha, also known as Qurbani Eid or Bakr Eid. It marks the end of the hajj period -- I know just a couple people who went to hajj this year though. KF

There was a post that went a little viral on LinkedIn a short while back here: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6305385426773385216 Honestly it *is* advice aimed at people who are middle-upper class, who have options. But it's good since it concretely shows that more benefits/mon...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

Yeah, I'm not opposed to appropriate localization - I don't mind if the text drifts away from the literal meaning as long as it keeps the feel. Thanks so much! I suspect I'll be taking advantage of that. :) I'd really love to have you work on it if the timing can work out. I'm working on translatin...

Re: Magical School Lunar translation [in progress!]

So, uh, I'm gonna be honest that I'm not much of a fan of Suppertails66's reasons for the "Unworked Designs" patches (I think he goes overboard with the dislike of the localization efforts, which on the whole I found to be quite good with only a few gripes). But, I'm totally fine with the ...

Welcome to the forums! Glad to see you around (and sorry for the delay in activating your account {--};;). Huh, you replay Eternal Blue for the Sega CD often then?
