Re: Fastest Game Time

Y'know I've played through the games so many times, but have yet to try anything like a speed run... I mean I've talked to every NPC so many times that I'm not actually missing anything any more. Maybe I should try one of these days, see how fast I can get through it all. I'm not too hot on low-leve...

Re: Noriyuki Iwadare and Kei Shigema on Honmaru Radio

Ok I had a chance to listen to it. There was actually a fair bit of talk about Lunar -- from the Sega CD days through the PSP. Mr. Iwadare talked a bit about the process of composing music to really fit the storyline and feel of the world, and the heroes' journeys (along with several comments/discus...

Noriyuki Iwadare and Kei Shigema on Honmaru Radio

Noriyuki Iwadare (composer for Lunar, Grandia, Ace Attorney) was on a recent episode of Honmaru Radio's "Creators' Cafe", along with Kei Shigema (the Lunar series' story/scenario writer): http://honmaru-radio.com/geko0003/ It's a Japanese-language program. I'm posting this up here partly a...

Re: In-world sequels and myth building

To be honest the only game where I get this feeling is with Lunar. I've only played a bit of Phantasy Star (PS1 and half of PS2), and never Langrisser (though Alunissage if I recall is a major Langrisser fan -- would love to hear her thoughts to expand on this too). ...come to think of it, I'm not s...

Re: Activism, Social Justice, Protests and you: The Political Discussion Containment Thread

Now, wresting this back to the original topic... Sorry for the double post, but the CBO score for the Senate bill is out. Highlights: -Compared to current law, 22 million people will lose their health coverage by 2026 (House version was 23 million). -In the next year alone, 15 million people will lo...

One TV (Samsung 4K) that I hook up everything to as needed: RetroDuo (NES/SNES) with component cables Genesis/SegaCD/32X with coax cable and three giant-ass AC adapters (WTF Sega) Japanese and US Saturns with component cables Japanese and US Playstations with component cables PS2 with component cabl...

Re: High quality S-Video switch box??

I can't answer the question directly since I don't use S-Video cables any more, but... are component cables or S-Video cables supposed to provide better quality? I've never had the chance to try both on the same TV to make an accurate comparison, and everything I play older systems on now has compon...

Re: Would you buy a remake of EB?

This is something that i've been praying would happen for years! When SSSC got ported to PSP I was sure Lunar 2 would be close behind, but sadly it did not happen. Well, the Japanese version of EBC did get released on PSN so it's playable on a PSP. ...there seems to be absolutely zero interest in d...

It's actually one from STL. The Aria in G. I do have a few from Songbird, though. I've got some from all over the place, actually. One from Japan, a couple from Italy. Most are from STL and Songbird, though. I have something like 20 of them, I think. I've got someone who knows how to use a kiln pro...

I'm also curios if you've had a chance to play either of the original Sega CD versions (though they're rather hard to ob...

Re: Activism, Social Justice, Protests and you: The Political Discussion Containment Thread

Well, there's a lot I could go into, but to avoid being too lengthy I'm going to just concentrate on one thing for now. For the benefit of others, I'm also highlighting a few of my main points. It's terrifying, and people have a right to be both scared AND cautious because of that fear. Obviously, f...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?

I've been going full-on cyberpunk. I just finished a play-through of Shadowrun Returns, and I'm going to go onto the other two games in the series (Dragonfall and Hong Kong) pretty soon. This is in addition to learning the rules of Shadowrun 5e itself, designing a Shadowrun campaign to GM in maybe a...

Welcome! (Or welcome back!) And oh, dude, you play ocarina as well? I think that looks like one of the Songbird Dragon Tooth ocarinas in your avatar? I was tempted to try to get someone to paint one of mine to look like Alex's -- maybe I'll try to do that myself one of these days with a blue glazed ...

Re: Magical School Lunar, Sega Saturn, My Life in Gaming, and Professor Abrasive

Long back there were some efforts for a Saturn translation patch, but that was also stalled long back. If I recall, it was going to have to be done via emulation -- no way to use the actual Saturn itself for it.

...I haven't heard anything about those efforts being revived though. KF

Re: Title fonts?

Ah, thought I responded to this... Unfortunately no, I've never been able to find anything. The LunarNET logo is literally made from cobbling the letters together individually from the game (well, EB). The TSS font though I haven't seen an exact equivalent. ...out of curiosity, what are you using in...

Re: Silver Star Story Touch may disappear with iOS 11

Regarding emulators, I've had limited success using John NES, Super Retro, and GENSPlus (for NES, SNES, and Genesis, respectively). Nothing too complicated though and they seem pretty bare-bones -- though they work on my weak 5+-year-old MP3 player. Also Genesis emulation in general seems to be hard...
