Re: DOUBLE the EXCITEMENT!!!!
Ok ok, I know that Lunar is a more common game in Japan and stuff, but still!!!! I am double-shocked. I actually don't think it is... Anyone want to be my fact-checking cuz on this one? And that's cool about a MegaMan-esque game by the creator. But now, I wish my Wii was where I currently am so I c...

Re: Gender and Lunar
This is off-topic, but everything that is going on here perplexes me, so I'm going to write it anyway.
A professor of mine said "monthly cycle" today. I shouldn't find that funny... but I do. Maybe just because of how old-fashioned it sounds.

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Oh, shush. Of course you belong here. One of us! One of us! One of us! Anodyne is super cool though. I should have posted about it when I was playing it, but I was too busy with my fieldwork (and Monday I'll be too busy with classes to do too much video game-wise). It's an interesting take on a gen...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
The only game I've played in like 2 years was Anodyne (which is a wonderful Zelda-esque that's all about atmosphere, quirky settings, and defying genre tropes in case you are interested in playing it). Maybe I don't belong on a video game message board anymore.

I loved My Little Pony when I was a kid (about 3 or 4 at the time). Something my parents never let me forget!

Re: Nobi's diet blog of dictation, observations, and suggest
I've been considering going on Mark Bittman's diet VB6 (vegan before 6). http://www.amazon.com/VB6-Before-Weight-Restore-Health/dp/0385344740/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377141216&sr=8-1&keywords=Vegan+Before+6 It's a diet of flexitarianism that encourages eating more vegetables, fruits, and...

Re: Pentagram?
I wouldn't think a pentagram has any specific orientation -- it's just a mathematical figure (see: octogram, decagram). Specific uses of it might have particular orientations. Wikipedia confirms this. Dang. Is there nothing that you can trust a metal head to teach you? But, it is only a Satanic sym...

Re: Pentagram?
Wasn't the Vane transporter emblem technically just a five pointed star as pentagrams are upside-down?
I've made the mistake a few times, but in high school I was kindly corrected by some metal heads.

Re: Nobi's diet blog of dictation, observations, and suggest
Thread necromancy! I started eating steel cuts oats for breakfast, and I remembered Alunissage talking about steel cut oats years ago. This recipe is amazing! You can have your oatmeal cook overnight in a crockpot. This way when you wake up all you have to do is scoop the oatmeal out of the crockpot...

J.J. Abrams is the director. Does that mean that Star Wars and Star Trek are finally the same thing and that all nerds can finally live in peace as predicted in the book of Revelations?

This is probably the least sad thing about this game. Still pretty sad if it's not a coincidence, which is what I am hoping for.

Yeah, same here. I like Lufia & The Fortress of Doom, but it's an absolute chore to play. Lufia II is fun.Imperial Knight wrote:I've only ever played the SNES originals and I'd honestly say that Lufia II is a much better game than Lufia. The story, dungeon design, and battle system are all vastly improved.

Re: Lunar 1 and Lufia 1 are so similar
In contrast, I liked Lufia a lot, but I haven't played it more than once. I think Lufia had a lot of the same attributes that I liked in Lunar. I remember it being pretty humorless and the dialogue being stiff. The only thing vaguely humorous about it that I remember was a scene at the beginning wi...

Truth. It's just so charming. Don't know why but it is. Somethings just shouldn't analyzed.Alunissage wrote:I'm not sure exactly what it is that makes Lunar so compelling, but it isn't originality of plot.
