Re: Which remake did you like better?

Yeah, I can understand Chance Dice being aggravating for not knowing what it'll do, but by that criterion Lucia is the most aggravating character ever. ;) True. :) Like I said, I like how you can manipulate her somewhat in EBC (i.e., station her to the far left to tank the enemy monsters so she alw...

Re: Which remake did you like better?

Darrell, are you saying the removal of Magic EXP is a pro or a con? Hard to tell. ;) Um...er...I think I'm saying that I put it in the wrong list. You mentioned several things that I hadn't thought of, and made me think of another one, too. SSSC Con: Expanded quotes for Luna make her seem li...

Re: Best In-Game Dialogue Setup

There have been times when I've played a game and not known who was talking. I can't think of an example here (probably an SNES-era or PS-era game). That's the absolute worst thing that could happen in a video game in my opinion. Final Fantasy VII; happened all the time. Sometimes the boxes would a...

Re: Which remake did you like better?

Let's see?: SSSC: Pro: 1. Luna with party for extended time enabling decent relationship to be formed with her. 2. Better in-game graphics and color palette (specifically including less of that darned glow-in-the-dark green color and having character sprites like Jessy and Mia actually look like the...

Re: Best In-Game Dialogue Setup

Yeah, that was actually part of what I really liked about SSSC and EBC, especially the latter, when the characters' portraits would change appearance based on the "tone of voice" of their replies. It gave the text a lot of personality. What I actually hate is when you walk up to character ...

Re: Fanfiction -- Lunar: Crimson Hope (13 chapters as of 1/10)

Another day, another chapter. This time puts our heroes on the road yet again, and I try to find something to kill the time by discussing the political fallout of the recent events in Nota, giving Tabren lessons in swordplay, and introducing a short lecture on the elements of magic in Lunar, giving ...

Re: Best Book Evar!!

I could be here all day: The House of the Wolf -- Basil Copper (the best traditional Gothic horror novel ever written, bar none--I also recommend his The Curse of the Fleers, Necropolis , and The Black Death , in that order) Sorcery and Cecelia -- Patricia Wrede and Caroline Stevermer (this book was...

Re: Little dialogue translation

Just for clarification, are they saying "ladies first" in English (i.e. in katakana?)--that is, to the Japanese-speaking boy magic students it sounds like a magic spell instead of a foreign phrase?

http://www.vgmworld.com is also a good place to check, particularly if you're not fond of bidding. They've got a fair whack of Lunar OSTs and drama CDs in stock now, in fact (though not the EB one...*sigh*).

Not too much here, either: Lunar: TSS Lunar: EB Lunar: SSSC Lunar: EBC Lunar: DS (all games open and thoroughly played; SCD boxes even cracked on occasion from having maps stuffed into 'em at odd places). Official guides for EB/SSSC/EBC; the latter two are falling apart from excessive over-reading (...

Re: eternal champions

I had both when I was a college student and I can safely say that even then, the SCD version blew chunks compared to the original Genesis game. The music was considerably worse, the AI was considerably cheaper, and the Overkills considerably dumber (not that they were brilliant acts of genius origin...
