Re: Sands of Destruction review
No problem with ranting. We must not let turn-based RPG's die! Sometimes, I just wanna relax and think about my battle strategy without having to worry about zombies, werewolves, dragons, or any other kind of crazy monster attacking me.

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Sometimes it's better to play games you already know are good. It seems I'm always playing, at least, one game I've already beaten.Imperial Knight wrote:Most of what I've been playing through lately consists of games I've beaten in the past but am revisiting now: Chrono Trigger, Growlanser II, Langrisser IV.

Hmm, I guess they didn't get Jenny to play Royce....still sounds good though. Once again, no complaints here.

Re: KYLE'S true voice clip now up on Faceplace.. I mean Facebook
No problems with it....sounds fine to me. And how do we know XSEED hired actors to sound like the old ones? I don't recall them stating that. How would that explain Nall? He sounds like a boy now. Personally, I think a characters voice should reflect that characters personality. The personalities ar...

Re: Sands of Destruction review
I'll be picking up White Knight Chronicles next week, but I could tell from game play footage that it's not traditional. I saw that there is possibly a new Xeno game being made by Monolith Soft for the Wii and Mistwalker just announced The Last Story, also for the Wii. Wii (lol) shall see if they sh...

Bradygames is good. Doublejump is my favorite, but they don't publish a lot of guides.Silver Phoenix wrote:I prefer Bradygames myself, but we'll have to see how the guide turns out.whitedragon_nall wrote:Not really a fan of Prima guides. Guess I'll hafta pass on this one.

Re: Sands of Destruction review
I don't know why, but I can't seem to get into WRPG's. Oblivion lasted me about 10 hours and Fallout 3 looks uninteresting to me. Mass Effect seems fun, but the 3PS part of it turns me away. Dragon Age: Origins is the only exception. The 2 best console JRPG's I played this gen are Demon's Souls and ...

Re: Sands of Destruction review
I've considered picking this up once I empty out my DS backlog. I, like SP mentioned, am sick of all the mediocre handheld RPG's we get. For every 1 great JRPG, we get 5 mediocre ones.

Re: Poor Sales in Japan?
There are a number of differences. In a system where enemies are visible on the map, the way in which an encounter is initiated may have an effect on the battle itself. For instance, in the Grandia series, sneaking up on an enemy gives your party the initiative while the enemies get the initiative ...

Re: Poor Sales in Japan?
Yeah, I never had any problems with random battles...unless they happen WAY too often. How is seeing the enemy on the map before you battle it any different? It seems people don't like to fight in RPG's anymore. On another note, I wonder why more RPG's haven't used Chrono Triggers seamless jump into...

I already have GENS downloaded so I'll probably pick them up on Amazon or Ebay in the near future. I just picked up No More Heroes 2 for the Wii...so it won't be this week. Thanks for all the advice everyone!

Re: One thing I have to mention about the official site by XSEED
I've tried watching Let's Plays for it....didn't last too long. The player talking kind of annoyed me. I've researched the game enough so I have a general idea of what I'd be getting into. Emulation has crossed my mind, but I'll look into getting a SCD first. If I can't....then at least i have anoth...

Re: One thing I have to mention about the official site by XSEED
You make me jealous with all the "longtime fan" talk. I wish I had gotten into RPG's at a younger age. Not much I can do about t now though. I agree with everything you said....the series does need a newer audience. I feel that Legend and DS were steps in the wrong direction and ...

Re: BUYER BEWARE!!!
You should invest in a Logitech Playgear Pocket Slim PSP case. My 2000 is in great condition because of it. The PSP can be charged in case, played in case, and has removable rubber inserts so you can decorate it with your favorite art! I've dropped mine before and the PSP remains undamaged. Probably...
