Ah. Well, for those of us who don't get the references in the battle voices, they only get old because they're, well, battle voices. I do like the various running away ones, though. Oh right. I still love "Sometimes you gotta know when to walk away and know when to run!" References an old song I st...

Well, there's an unwritten rule in all RPGs. If there's 4 mystical dragons, orbs, books, or anything else spread across the landscape, you can bet you'll have to track down all four in some order. Since the world is evenly divided and all, I figure there'll be a lot to say about the location of each...

The strategy guides are written independently of one another. Stuff in the game is usually in both. Working Designs actually does a very good job of translating, some of the best, and it takes a play-through of the original Japanese versions to really appreciate that. Only occasionally will they ins...

The difference between Lunar: SSS and Lunar: Legend can be summed up thusly: SSS was a game, Legend was a summary. Legend is more like an overview and vague recollection of the story in SSS, not to mention ridiculously easy.

It was still fun, though. KF

Actually she doesn't. It WAS supposed to be Hell Mel in TSS, but Sega nixed it. It's in that interview with Vic in the TSS guide. They only nixed it in a few of the TSS versions, it didn't get edited out in ALL of them. Since they released SO MANY versions of TSS. Hell Mel is Hell Mel in the rarest...

Way to cite! Thanks. No problem. I have the EB and TSS scripts memorized, so quoting that from memory ain't an issue. Guess I've been wrong about Working Designs. Hmmm, I really should've taken Japanese instead of Italian... I'd have so many more games to play. No reason why you can't take both. KF

Okay, maybe the giggle tent wasn't the best example. But their use of subtly suggestive sexual humor is in there. There's supposed to be a Clinton joke in EB complete, but either I haven't found it, or I forgot what it was. I'll also really miss Working Designs references to 90's pop culture like t...

There will be plenty of NPCs; you can see them in the screenshots in fact. Though, they'll be inside buildings or certain locations (like the fountain in Searis). They won't be randomly walking around outside town. That's the only difference. KF

Why're you asking Alunissage, when Damon's Disciple stands before you? It's Burg, by the way. Looks like an early build of it that was revamped or changed, perhaps. A few reasons why I say that... First, Ramus is in the party, so that limits the options to places before Meribia. Second, the greenery...

My beef with science's take on universe creation is that it is usually FAR more ridiculous than any religious text. The Big Bang theory, for instance, is valid only so far back as you get to the signularity of all matter in the universe. The next logical question is "but what about before then?" I'...

Still disagreed... It's actually very creative, when used appropriately. Folks here have too much of a fear of plagiarism, to the extent where admitting influence from previous works is dangerous. It really gets to a ridiculous extent. Personally, I much prefer the take that Japanese literature has ...

We've been through this before. The fountain of transmission that leads to the Frontier was only dry for the 10 years before the story -- it was Ghaleon who sealed off that part of the Frontier, not Althena. Therefore, even if she sealed off the Vile Tribe in the Frontier, the humans were able to l...

I was pretty certain that plenty of homosexuals felt the same way about the public displays of sexuality, no matter what the orientation of the participants / "publicists". I love the lines in Willy Wonka, but stealing lines from famous literature isn't the most creative way of rewriting lines. Disagreed... Referencing famous literature, particularly if it's put into another context, is always a real interesting way to write dialogue. You'd be surprised how effective ...

You also forget the Mamelukes in the Ottoman Empire. Their legal status were slaves, but they held government positions and rose up the ranks of the military. Many (if not most or all... I forget) generals in the armed forces of the Ottoman Empire were Mamelukes. With the Qur'an, I see pretty clearl...

Yeah considering it's nearly impossible to find the current hardware, the Gens emulator with the Sega CD BIOS will run Sega CD games perfectly. Get the original CD, though; it appears on eBay from time to time. Anyway, these have been sort of covered, but the worst change they made by far was to the...
