Apparently it snowed here in Indiana two nights ago, but I missed it since I was up in Madison and by the time I got back here it had pretty much melted. Ironic that I missed a snowstorm by going up north.

I'm glad that Indiana is still in it. A few weeks ago it looked like they might not make the tournament at all.

Oh, you meant to talk about this year's tournament? No can do, sorry.

I actually like SRPGs, just not Nippon Ichi's take on the genre. Disgaea seemed awfully repetitive to my tastes.

I tend to agree with the opinion that the impact of Final Fantasy VII on the RPG genre is often overstated. It did help popularize the genre in America (though the average RPG still isn't a huge seller), but I don't think it really changed the way RPGs were made all that much. A lot of what it did e...

I think the biggest problem with your list is how it's presented. If it were just presented as a list of personal favorites, or even as "I think these are some of the best RPGs out there" I'm not so sure it would have gotten the same reactions. But when you have it as "games every RPG...

From what I've been told, it's pretty much that the owner got sick of the upkeep.

Was it lunareb.com? Cause I can't reach it now either. Even though they're probably the biggest competition for LunarNET in terms of Lunar sites this side of the Pacific, if they're gone, that sucks. I know they had a pretty big forum base especially. Lunareb.com is gone. I believe that there's a f...

Should I skip Hose and His Boy and save it til I've finished the main four? Well, on the one hand Horse doesn't really gain much (if anything) from having read the others. On the other hand, it does kind of interrupt the "flow" to read it right after Lion since, as Rune Lai pointed out, L...

Rhapsody was reprinted fairly recently, along with at least one other Atlus PS1 game (I want to say that it was one of the Persona titles, but I'm not 100% sure on that).

I never did see the movie, but I did read (and enjoy) the books. IIRC, the subject of which order is the "proper" order in which to read the books is a source of a decent amount of controversy. Many people hold surprisingly strong opinions on the subject one way or another. I originally re...

It's been raining a lot for the past few days now, but I honestly don't mind all that much. I kind of like storms, particularily at night.

I'm not going anywhere for Spring Break, but the week after that I'll be visiting Madison, Wisconsin for a day (kind of annoying scheduling but there's nothing I can do about that).

I didn't realize how lucky I was to find a copy of Final Fantasy Tactics when I did. It wasn't until later that I found out how rare it was (until it got a Greatest Hits re-release, that is). Likewise with finding the Lunar 2: EBC strategy guide when I did (there weren't very many copies made).

Plot wise I tend to think that GL2 suffers from trying to be a direct sequel to GL1. Since GL1 didn't really leave much in the way of loose ends, parts of GL2 come off as rather contrived. GL3's plot starts out well, but by the second half it comes across as rushed, with some events not getting prop...

I can't say I've ever been particularily excited about this game (or the series in general). I'm not a particularily big fan of Disney or Final Fantasy , so it's hard for me to get all that enthusiastic about a game for which the inclusion of characters from those franchises is a big part of the app...

Also, I think the only shows in that list that are still running are The Simpsons (not as good) and Star Trek (I don't like Enterprise..). Enterprise was cancelled at the end of Season 4 (i.e. last season). It was probably the least of the Trek shows, and the 4th season was somewhat overrated by fa...

I'm always glad to see another Niner! DS9 never really got the attention it deserved, IMO.

My favorite comedy would probably be Third Rock from the Sun.

For drama I'm going to have to go with Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

As for shows that are currently running, I'd say my favorite is Law & Order.

This topic reminds me of a Principal Skinner quote from The Simpsons:
