Re: Request: LunarNET Discord Server
I'm not sure -- like I think preferences have shifted to be less permanent, and less structured. Meaning that a forum with defined topics and posts that you can comb back through for years has less appeal, while effectively chat rooms where you can jump in/out of conversation any time with no need ...

Re: Last Anime?
Awhile ago I finished Sarazanmai by Kunihiko Ikuhara. The thing I love about his works are how each is basically [X social issue] THE ANIME! For Example: Utena: Femminism and Gender Roles: THE ANIME! Penguindrum: Fate and the nature of family ties: THE ANIME! Yurikuma: Being LGB in Japan: THE ANIME!...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
Finished YU-NO (original, not the remake.) By far the strangest game I have every finished. Not a criticism, I overall highly enjoyed it. It messes with your head big time. Also it had a great fan-localization that reminded me of Working Designs.

Re: Anyone here wants a Lunar HD Collection?
There's no reason (other than legal issues) why there shouldn't be a Lunar HD collection. It should include both games son SCD and PS1, and the L1 remake on PSP to make many people happy as possible. Also don't stop with Switch, I'd rather buy it on it Steam. I agree that Lunar 1 on SCD is best, but...

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World. Playing the original as Translated by the TLWiki as the remake art style looks bland and bad.

Re: What Anime do you like
I used to be obsessed with anime growing up, but i slowly started to lose my interest because of the amount of unneeded fan service. There were other reasons as well, but now i only watch a small select few when I am in the mood...As for sitting down and checking out new animes...Sadly my spark is ...

Re: Childhood's End
I really like this. I don't know if a folk-art vibe was what you were going for, but it grabbed my attention. Xenobia is extra-busty here, isn't she? I haven't logged in in forever...thanks! My references were Childhood's End chap 7, page 14-15, so idk about folk art? I think she's always...

Re: GHALEON DID NOTHING WRONG
You aren't "hammering" anything, thank you. The frontier was a horrible living place due to lack of food/light as has previously been established. These living conditions may have contributed to the Black Dragon’s insanity. Therefore it “hammers in” my point that it was a Frontier was a h...

Re: GHALEON DID NOTHING WRONG
The only Vile Tribe members we see talking in TSS are definitely written to imply a group of stupid monsters. Lines like "I've lost count of all the humans I've [some verb]...wait, I don't know how to count!" and dumb-coded laughter. I don't recall offhand if that's also the case in Japan...

Re: GHALEON DID NOTHING WRONG
I often prefer ideologically driven villains, but I prefer TSS Ghaleon because he was a revenge-driven antagonist done right, whereas remake Ghaleon had a cause, but it was so esoteric that it just felt like Ghaleon was being really rigid. If the game had taken time to show roving bandits, changing ...

Re: Growlanser 1
The situation with Langrisser is a bit unusual. To make a long story short the original publisher of the series, NCS, left the gaming market years ago and eventually Extreme bought the rights to all their IP. Extreme essentially operates by licensing out the IP to others. In practice what this has ...

Re: Book of the Moment
Giving this thread a Phoenix Down cause most every other major art form is already covered here. I'm reading he Kalevala, aka that national epic of Finland complied by Elias Lönnrot. I've always enjoyed ancient epics, so far I've read the Nihon Shoki and Kojiki of Japan, the Poetic Eddas of the anci...

Re: Pentagulia's destruction
Hahaha, okay, okay, I hate to utter the name of the author of such unreadably poor text and socially irresponsible themes, but I'll just imagine that the writings of Ayn Rand were in the library of Pentagulia building no. 8 when the dragons showed up and are now in the bottom of the sea. ...you kno...

Ok this is just getting ridiculous now: someone please stop speaking in riddles, and tell me the title, since so many of you know. I did a search based on the original post, and found nothing relevant.

Re: Pentagulia's destruction
A parallel: there's a moment in a novel I won't name when a reckless politician, on a passenger train whose engine has broken down, urges that they be switched to an old coal engine instead of waiting for another diesel engine. He eventually harangues the operator into doing so, even though the old...
