Yes, but what I'm trying to figure out is whether it's both EB and EBC, or just EBC. EBC had that extra scene where Lucia narrates the Death of the Blue Star, which puts those lines more in context. And I was curious whether those lines are also in the Japanese versions, but barring extracting the r...

You sure know your stuff. lol Yes, she sure does! She's probably beaten the game a lot. And it plainly states it in the strat guide as well that Alex should be a certain level To be honest, I've only finished the game once, in 1999. I just have a good memory. I did play up to the Blue Dragon Shrine...

Where is it that Zophar says that there can be no new creation without destruction? I'm thinking it's in that bloody long cutscene where Lucia ends up captured, but I don't remember which version it's in. I'm thinking it's only the remake, but I haven't played that since 2001. ilovemyguitar, I think...

In that case, you shouldn't say things like "when she fell in love with Dyne" as you do in your first post. I'd be interested to know whether that creation/destruction line is about the same in the Japanese game, but I suppose that will have to wait until Kizyr gets to it, unless Temzin knows. Is th...

The originals and remakes differ on this point, yes -- she had clearly reincarnated several times in the TSS/EB continuity, and only once in the SSSC/EBC one. The outline you suggest would be a way to make a reasonable compromise between the two. You're wrong about Althena's reasons for becoming hum...

I've known people who prefer Zelda II, and since I've seen one of them beat it, it's rather stupid to say it can't be done. I'm sure many people finished it when it came out. I'm rather surprised you place the Oracles so high in your estimation; I enjoyed them both on the first playthrough, but the ...

Don't tell us what opinions to keep to ourselves. I don't really like these negative threads as they tend to encourage angry responses as people use exaggerated, general expressions of hatred to describe something that they personally didn't happen to like as if their opinions were objectively true,...

Level does matter in that the party's stats do not necessarily increase the same way the bosses' do. And obviously early on it matters as the party members gain new spells/skills with higher levels. And the bosses stop levelling up after Alex's level 50 anyway.

I was referring to this specific board, the Introductions one, where people who have been here all of a week are welcoming other newcomers. It just seems ridiculous to me to welcome someone to a place you hardly know yourself. Not that I want newcomers to feel unwelcome (generally); it's just that p...

Isn't it interesting that Nintendo Power has the exclusive when the first installments came out at a time when people were so console-partisan that they took screennames like "Segaboy"? I wonder how many of NP's current readership have played the originals. Steve, I enjoyed meeting you last year aft...

Nothing at present, but I recently finished my Sherlock Holmes anthology, after quite a delay. I also visited my grandparents' on Saturday, and I'd been waiting for Grandma to finish a book ( Serpent in the Crown, the latest in the Amelia Peabody mysteries) so I could borrow it. She'd stopped readin...

If you still can't find it in a month or two I could possibly sell you my extra one...I picked up a second copy a month or two after it came out so my sister could play it. I'd need to get that one back from her and assess the condition first, though, and I'm unlikely to be able to do that any soone...

I just finally got around today to watching the gameplay footage from the press conference. It is indeed beautiful. But I had this disquieting realization partway through: Realistic style means realistic monsters. The relevant part of this being, I hate spiders. I'm not sure I'm ready to battle a 3D...

Hey, Phyco, could you make your subject lines a little more specific? I haven't seen this (or Ep 2) yet and while I've been reasonably successful in avoiding spoilers the hover aspect of this board makes it rather too easy to negate the purpose of the tag if my mouse is in the wrong place. (Why we c...

Yeah, it doesn't look like Ocarina of Time at all. Though perhaps you meant something other than its appearance. I get excited about some games, although the Zeldas and Lunars are pretty much the only games I get as soon as they're available - since I so rarely play games when they come out by the t...

Ah, years of my yelling at you about unrealistic bodies have finally taken effect. I continue to fail to understand why you put Vs on faces for noses, though. I didn't see the first one as fat at all, just fairly normal for today's styles. I think the reason some people are seeing her that way is th...
