Re: Last Anime?
I've also been watching Sword Art Online. I love it! I've watched all the episodes so far. Ive also been watching Blast of Tempest, which is also on Crunchyroll. I'll give Blast of Tempest a try. Looks cool. Btw, RightStuf's seasonal holiday sale is on now. Some good deals if you're into anime DVDs...

Re: Gaming Stores
I live in Vancouver, Canada and it seems like the independent game store industry here more or less died along with the big game studios. Since 2008 we lost EA Black Box, Backbone, Propaganda, UbiSoft Vancouver, and Radical almost closed (which is almost impossible to imagine! they were one of the f...

Re: Last Anime?
I've been watching Sword Art Online on Crunchyroll, but I stalled after 12 eps. It started very strong but I didn't realize it was going to be a full length series.

Re: What Are You Currently Playing?
I CAN'T WAIT TO START BIOSHOCK 2!!! Let me know what you think of it. I was kinda disappointed with BioShock 2. I liked the original BioShock, and picked BioShock 2 up during a Steam sale for under $10 (oh crap! Steam sale! gotta check now)... actually, yeah, it's only $5 on sale right now, so if y...

This is an awesome idea. I'll give it a try. I don't expect to last long, though.

Virtue's Last Reward
I got the PS Vita version of Zero Escape 2: Virtue's Last Reward and have been enjoying it a lot. I didn't play the first game in the series, 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. They're Chunsoft games. Basically it's a visual novel with breaks in the story where you solve a room escape game p...

Re: New Star Wars
I agree that the extended universe after Ep 6 has a lot of great stuff. I feel, optimistically, that this will be a reason for Lucasfilm to pull the tone back more in the direction of the original trilogy as well--to make Star Wars grittier and scarier again. Then again, it's Disney, so probably not...

Re: Guys, can you help me?
Ah... I feel your pain. Sucks when emulators don't work right.
I'm still working on Suikoden II with my PS3. The game seems to freeze up whenever I use the Bright Shield rune's Battle Oath ability, which would be nice to have. But so far that's the only major glitch I've run into.

Re: Guys, can you help me?
Dunno if this will help, but I find with Gens that it does not do a good job of handling CD audio from a ripped iso. You have to supply the CD tracks as separate mp3 files named in a specific way that is described in the docs. It gave me so much trouble with Vay that I ended up running without the C...

Re: JRPG Backlog
I need to get back to Atelier Iris 2 and Atelier Annie. Been procrastinating! I have no experience with the Atelier series, aside from reading about it. Which one would you say is the best? Dark Fairy: I feel your pain re: Disgaea. I've played a lot of NIS games, but the only I ever finished were t...

Why "The Empire Strikes Back" is the Best Star Wars Movie
Sorry, couldn't resist a bit of a rant. I was looking at some of the polls and noticed that Phyco thinks Ep V sucks. That's cool an' all--I'm not trying to troll or anything--but like many I've been a Star Wars fan for a long time, and I'm strongly opinionated on this point. Don't let that stop you ...

JRPG Backlog
So... I'm guessing that, like me, a lot of users here have a backlog of unfinished JRPGs haunting their shelves. What's on yours? On the PS1 (played on PS3) I'm working on Suikoden II . I actually managed to snag this one way back in 2005 for $40, used. It's not even that long of a game, but I never...

Re: Nice to meetcha
It's the memory space on the cartridge, rather than the resolution. Now that I think about it, whatever working memory the Famicom has for dealing with blitting text would probably be overwhelmed by a large character set. All of those glyph bitmaps would need to be resident in memory--or maybe not,...

Re: Nice to meetcha
You have it backwards, actually. His original name isn't Alex at all; it's Arhes -- and the pronunciation, [aresu] is as in "earth", to pair with Luhna = moon (although there's evidence that that wasn't always her name). They didn't start with the English name Alex and then convert it to ...

It's cool you even have the Japanese versions of Lunar. One of these days I'd like the Japanese copies myself, lol. I decided to take a random semester of Japanese just to fill up credit hours (yay Senior year of college), so I'm starting to learn a little bit of Japanese myself. :P Learning Japane...

That's great stuff to know, thanks! Now if only they'd localize the first Growlanser, I could try to play them all.

I am literally counting down the hours until X-Com: Enemy Unknown unlocks on Steam, tonight. If it sucks, I will be heartbroken.

Re: Growlanser IV (PSP)
My interest in this is definitely piqued. I was thinking of getting Growlanser IV but what with The Last Story, Borderlands 2, and a landslide of other games coming out, this one got pushed off to the side. Sounds like I should make the effort for it, though. My only experience with Growlanswer was ...

Nice to meetcha
Hi there. Just thought I'd sign up, try to participate a little. This is a great site to get advice on games and anime from people who appreciate quality JRPGs. I have a small collection of GameArts games, including some Japanese copies of Mega CD games (Tenka Fubu, Silpheed, and of course Lunar), a...
