Piss on EB Games and GameStop. Forcing customers to trade in 50 bucks worth of games and systems to preorder is a bunch of -Dung Beetle-. I know they make most of their money on used stuff, but that's just ridiculous. Or rather, it's highway robbery. Considering the concept is "Trade 3 games i...

As for Althena. Obviously, there are the name similarities with a pagan god, but at the same time (as far as I know, I haven't beaten Dragon Song nor read the posts concerning it) she is a monotheistic figure. There's no pantheon of gods, or god of this or god of that. Actually, yes, there is. The ...

Yeah, I'm so happy I have a decent job now. Between Wii and a game or two... I guess that still isn't that much. I can't see how some people can afford 3-4 games a month. Or more importantly, the time for it. Ditto. I have a huge backlog including games I bought two years ago o.o; I think I'll wait...

Hm, I have to agree with Aaron on the bit about one of the messages being sent by Lunar, or at least more evident in EB, was the strength of humans. I've known a number of people that feel they're weak and meaningless and that they need a higher power to get by. In Lunar, I feel they tried to get th...

Final Fantasy XII: Should I or Shouldn't I...

Okay, first off from what I played on the demo that came with Dragon Quest VIII, I wasn't impressed with the gameplay. But then, Famitsu came around and gave the game a near (if not) perfect score (as I recall). But then, I still have my doubts. There have been very high rated games that I didn't en...

Part of me is really tempted to put away some money for the system, but I'm trying to stay by my rule of not buying systems when they first come out. I have a number of reasons, including price, game list, time to see if any technical issues would arise with early models... ...but I want to play tha...

Finally playing Shadow of the Colossuss (wanted to wait until it was cheaper, and now it's 20 bucks ^^). It's a pretty game artistically, though as an altogether package, I'm disappointed. Tons of hype can do that, though.

I should start up Tales of Symphonia, again...

Kind of an update

It's been over a month now, and I haven't beaten the game. Honestly, I put it down once I got a copy of Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, then tried to pick DS up again but couldn't get back into it. I figure I have to finish it sometime, but I guess the question stirring in my head is should I let this ...

Venture Bros.

Does anyone else here watch this series? I recently got the season 1 dvds and watched the last two season 2 episodes that premiered, and it's one of the most amusing cartoons I've seen in a while. I don't think you even had to have seen all those poor cartoons from three decades ago to appreciate th...

"The Belgariad" from David Eddings. I'm back into my fantasy-medieval kick so I belted out about 80 pages today. Nice book so far. Kinda cliche, but likeable characters and good dialogue.

We have two dogs: shetland sheepdogs (kinda like miniature collies). We've had them for about 12 years. They can be pretty loud with the barking, but they're very affectionate to those they trust.

Unfortunately, we might be losing one very soon. They are old dogs, after all.

Finally got it

My birthday just recently passed and a friend surprised me by getting me a DS Lite. I went out and the first game I bought was this. Of course, I've read the reviews by people that just downright hated the game, and those more forgiving. I knew what I was getting into and consciously lowered my expe...

Hehe, my brother brought the dvd set over when he visited. We first watched an episode that included the live action segment (full with canned laughter, and that goofy "do the Mario" dance thing during the end credits). Watching the show again, it does look dated (hey, it's from the late 8...

I finally got to see it the other day ago when my visiting brother brought it over. I have to say the visuals were really nice and there was some good action in it. I felt the plot left something to be desired, though. It felt more like fan service than something meant to stand on its own, but that ...

Maybe if I was rich, I would....but 300-500 dollars just for a doll (as rare as it may be) that's likely just to sit on your shelf....hm, nah.

Hehe, Johnny Depp just seems to have that appeal, I guess. I remember talking with some female friends and they didn't even care about Orlando Bloom in Pirates; it was all about Jack Sparrow. Granted, Depp is a handsome guy in general, but something about him playing a raggedy pirate appeals to my n...

I'm one of those people that tries not to compare two mediums, like books and movies, comics and movies, etc. Obviously, you can't fit 40 years of convoluted plot into three movies. Granted, I love the X-Men franchise, but all those things like Juggernaut's comic origin would not fit well with the m...

Life is okay where I live, which is in Redding, California (up north). The weather usually gets very hot around this time, but it's actually been kinda nice the last couple of weeks. Finals are over, but I have summer school in a couple weeks. Next year I'll get my associate's degree in culinary art...

Surely, the rest of us can't be denied our opinions of this stunning new development ;) And yes, the name is laughable, at best...I'm being nice here. Actually, I told a guy at campus who is this huge Nintendo fan that I thought the name sucks and he got really offended by it. Oh well.

Hm, as far as RP'ing goes, I'm used to just making my own characters but I have played one character from Chrono Trigger: Tata. I actually like to play side characters, build on them and such and provide support in the storytelling, if I can.
