Re: Good Old Games for Cheap!

I know Rise of the Triad is running with Dos Box driving it because you can see it when the game boots up. But whatever they did to Fallout is amazing. I couldn't get the original disc version, the version from the Fallout Trilogy Bethesda (re)released working on my netbook no matter what patches or...

Re: Why do the remakes keep getting easier?

Yep, and it's not just Lunar. When Shining Force was remade for the GBA it was really easy and the original wasn't that hard until you got pretty far into it. But compared to Fire Emblem it's way easier. Do they think newer gamers can't handle the originals or something? At least the new SMB for Wii...

Re: Final Fantasy XIII

Amano's characters work well for 2D but they would look ridiculous in 3D especially when everything around them is as realistic looking as the environments in FFXIII. If it was something like Hotel Dusk:Room 215 for DS, or a 2D DS title, or really any style where hand drawings would work well Amano ...

Good Old Games for Cheap!

I don't usually recommend services or websites, but there's a site selling classic games that I want to share with as many people as possible. They have games ranging from old dos point and click adventures to more modern first person shooters to obscure niche titles that often turn out to be gems. ...

Re: Attention! All Castlevania fans!!!

I still have a hard time listening to the "fixed" Dracula battle dialogue on SotN too. That's funny. I have Dracula X Chronicles and still have the PSX version of Symphony of the Night on my PSP because while it's cool to play as Maria, the voiceovers make me crazy. I hate the way Alucard...

Re: Final Fantasy XIII

I really like it. What's really something is that when that Final Fantasy Spirits Within movie came out it looked pretty good as a cg movie. Now the series has caught up to the point where the in-game graphics are just as good. I'm still just starting out so I can't say much for the plot aside from ...

Re: Attention! All Castlevania fans!!!

It probably looks nicer than it did on the Turbo Duo, and it costs a lot less than it would be on ebay. Also Castlevania Drac X Chronicles on PSP has the original which you can play on TV if you have a tv-out cable that supports games. While we have a Castlevania thread, I'd like to share this: http...

I'm glad to hear that it's getting better, but keep in mind that healing takes time. Whenever there's a huge change to your life, especially one that hurts it's going to leave it's mark for a while. I'm not saying I understand how you feel, but when my father died I was devastated and there was a le...

Re: Lunar PSX Collector's Notes

That link is cool, Localflick! Thanks. This info is already on Lunarnet, but it's nice having it all together. My version of Lunar Silver Star Story Complete is kind of an odd hybrid... I only played EB on Sega CD, and I picked up the remake for psx but somehow I completely missed SSSC until after ...

Lunar PSX Collector's Notes

I just found a few links that break down and compare the various psx remakes that came out: Lunar: http://www.game-rave.com/psx/playstation_perfect_guide/releasedgames/lunar/index.html Lunar 2: http://www.game-rave.com/psx/playstation_perfect_guide/releasedgames/lunar2/index.html It breaks down each...

Re: GRANDIA PSOne Classic to be released on PSN tomorrow.

Thanks for letting me know. Then in that case, I should be able to back it up like I've done my other PS1 games. =) Yeah, I used to go back and forth between my laptop and psx using a save converter and dex drive. It was pretty convenient. As far as psp games go though, I haven't found a converter ...

Re: North American Sales

That's great to hear. I hope the psn version sold well too, and I'm curious if that format is more profitable because there's no manufacturing cost, just bandwidth. They probably had to pay a fee to get the game on psn, but maybe that's a part of the psp licensing... I'm not sure. I just hope this g...

Re: GRANDIA PSOne Classic to be released on PSN tomorrow.

No. I have the Dex Drive for my PC and it helps as I run through my games on my PSP and PS1. Do the PSN games use the same file format as PopStation? The emulator is the same, and I've converted games that weren't available, then purchased them once they were available on psn. Some of the saves wor...

Re: Heavy Rain has leaked nudity that doesn't appear in-game

Some of it also comes from people just being uninformed. I have a friend that isn't a gamer and he was buying a game as a gift for another friend's son as birthday gift for a 14 year old. He was going to get God of War because he knew the birthday boy likes mythology and when he asked for a gift rec...

Re: Official "Got my copy" thread!

Picked up Premium Edition at GameStop on 3/2 Downloaded PSN version last night. That is awesome. One other perk of having both versions is that the downloaded copy has a beautiful high res version of the manual (highlight LSSSH in the xmb, hit triangle and it's the last option) so you can view the ...

Re: Lunar:Silver Star Harmony PSN download available NOW!

Well, I hope we never get the point where all we have is downloads. I like physical copies for the case, manual and the disc/cartridge, However, a memory stick has a lot more portability than several UMD's. Yeah, I'm fearful of us ending up with all downloads also. I confess that I wouldn't mind ow...

Re: Comparison between the PSP screen and playing through HDTV

It varies a lot depending on the tv. When the psp 2000 first came out and the tv-out was a big selling point there were a lot of video reviews on youtube and it seemed like every tv they used it on had a different sized border. I have a 32" 720p LCD which is decent, but the aspect ratio is perf...
