Nintendo Power August 2005 issue

Post by Katze »

I just received my August NP issue today (yes, August..) and inside there was a very nice Lunar article. I don't want to type up the whole thing, so I'll just tell you the things that weren't already revealed to us (at least, I what I don't think was already revealed...)

-Beastmen are the dominant race and occupy a grand city at the center of the world. Humans live a simple existance in the countryside.

-The viletribe is in the game. Rumor has it that they captured the goddess.

-Jian supposedly takes it upon himself to to travel to the Frontier and rescue the goddess, since there is no Dragonmaster around.

-Noriyuki Iwadare will not be doing the music for this game. (darn) However, almost all of the other original team members will be working on Lunar: DS.

-There will be cutscenes!

-Mitsuru Takahashi, the person who was interviewed in the article, said that the next Lunar game will most likely be about the Four Heroes.
(omg yes! please!)

-The "themes" of Lunar: DS are, according to Mitsuru Takahashi, "What is the most important to humans?" and "What is the most important to Jian?"

-The "defense" command does not exist in the game. And they replaced the "escape" command with voice recognition. (so basically, it sounds like if we plan to run from a battle, we will be forced to use the voice command.)

-You don't have to specify which monster to fight in this game. The game automatically checks equipped weapons, player character status and monster status, and it determines ground battle or ariel battle.

There are also new screenshots in the article, but I can't show you those because I don't have a scanner.

Ah, good, it's out. We've been expecting the article for a while, just didn't know when it'd be out.

Unfortunately, no. It just says that they "are using a different sound company this time."

I'm reading the info right now myself. (Didn't see this post down here... :?) I posted some links I found to some scans of the article.

That fact that Iwadare isn't doing the music is very disappointing. But, I'll live. I suppose.... :P

No defend command? Oh, that was the best. I loved to see each of the characters cower in different ways.
Lunar: Dragon Song sucked

Ok now I'm confused........ I don't own a DS and have glossed over anything I ever read about it because I never cared (though now that there's a Lunar game I care very very much).... so the DS has voice recognition capabilities or just the game or what?? Someone please explain this to me.

The DS has a microphone; voice recognition is implemented by the game.

I'm willing to bet something of little value that there will be some card avaliable that will help in the process of running away. The closer it gets to the overseas release, the better and better this game looks.

Cinematics=pwnage.

I have to control myself alot not to talk like a 1337 n00b.
