Why "Dragon Song?"

I've been wondering this since I beat the game: why is it called Dragon Song? I really don't remember anything being said about the title and I was just curious.

Well, there's 4 Dragons in it, certainly...

But there's not a single song sung in the whole game. Either by Althena, Dragons, Jian, or anyone else.

There was a vote here held sometime ago. Given other games and some of the other choices, I assume UbiSoft wanted something that could be abbreviated as DS.

Because whoever came up with the possible names for that poll was an idiot trying to be cutesy? Though the other four names weren't that much better, being mostly too dark. I really wish it hadn't ended up with the initials DS, as it totally messes up my naming conventions for the games. :? Besides which, if there's a second game on the DS the initials will be worse.

You think they have sold/will sell enough copies to do a sequel?

Couldn't say; I wasn't expecting anything after Legend. But the name was determined before it went on sale, of course. There's also the possibility of a remake, this being GA.

That gets my vote.

For recap's sake, the choices were Scarlet Sun, Ashen Dawn, Shattered Dawn, Dragon Song, and Dark Skies. (Right?)

In the end, not a one of them was all that appropriate. Ashen Dawn or Dark Skies may have served passably, but they're too dark and overwrought.

Dark Skies!

You know Dark Skies was the best. Would've been perfect. People should've picked that. KF

More like Lunar: Dragon Slayer. Haha :P
Nah... a good name for that game would have been Lunar: Dragonmaster Story. That pretty much pins down the largest themes in the game.

Except that it would be a spoiler right in it's topic, and give away that at least someone becomes a Dragonmaster.
QFT

Dark Skies was my favorite.

By the way, this thread is spoilerific. If we're going to critisize GameFAQs for posting spoilers without warnings, why is it ok to do it here?
I don't think it would have been so bad. I think people should have been made aware that it was a Dragonmaster story. Maybe it wouldn't have been as appropriate a name for Silver Star, because that was the first Lunar adventure, but I think that most fans wouldn't have minded the title for the 3rd (or 4th if you count magic school) Lunar adventure. I liked the title "Dragon Song" just because I didn't take it literally...I saw it more like a "Dragon Song" being another term for legend or myth. I read a book once where they refered to myths of a certain time (when dragons were around) as "dragon psalms" or something.

Dragon Slayer would of been good though.

*snicker* Hehe, Lunar: Da Sequel (L:DS for the DS! Sequel to L:DS!)

You might want to disable smileys if you're going to abbreviate the game as L:DS.

I liked the name, it could have been worse IMO. They could have just called it Lunar DS (with no Dragon Song at all) like they have with a lot of games. Like Mario DS

Just switch the LDS to LSD. LSD for the DS.:shock::shock:
