I played it over about a month. It took me about... I think 20 hours. And I was just under level 50.
Keep in mind, this was... nearly 7 years now, for me. I might not have it exactly. In subsequent playthroughs, I've either been higher or lower in level, but it has taken as little as 12 or 13 hours.
I haven't played it completely in about a year though. Way too busy to go over the old games I love... especially RPGs, which are really a time investment.

I know it was over 50 hours for me. I was playing with my housemate, though, and of course you'd end up with one person waiting for the other and just letting the game run or levelling up... one of those times I remember spending two or three extra hours in the Blue Dragon Shrine because I thought I might have missed a warp to some place and then accidentally going into the Dragon's room which reset the dungeon so I ended up doing it again. Think I ended that with 33 starlights dropped from Electric Eyes or whatever they are.

I think my first playthrough had me at 30-something hours and I was close to level 50 (but I think I was 49 or 48... or something). I remember a few times when I just let the game sit there for an hour because I either had to make dinner or I was waiting on someone to get back so they could see what happened next.
My second playthrough took longer, but that's because I decided to do more random exploring.
