Huh, not even L-net has the bromide. For shame.

-Spoiler-

The bromide is of Borgan holding the Dark Scimitar.

I need to get that online. I have it somewhere on my harddrive. I need to make a massive amount of updates to the site anyways. It's just one more in the stack.

*blinks* Secret bromide? I've never heard of it, was it mentioned in the guide and I totally missed it? Strange... though I have been known to space out sometimes, how does one go about retriving it?

Yes, it's called bromide X in the game, and the icon in your inventory shows a black background with a red x through it. The strategy guide has a sticker of the icon, actually. It can be obtained in either Neo Vane or regular Vane, in Lemina's mother's room, in a curtain. How exactly to get it, I forgot (I think you press X O X O X O or something.)

It's in Vane, in the epilogue, in the main hall of the Magic Guild where Miria and Borgan are, behind the curtain. And I'm fairly certain that you have to hold up and press X O XO repeatedly. And also, I believe you need to have all the other Bromides already in your inventory.

The thing about this Bromide that's always bugged me, though, is how is a person supposed to find this on their own? Is there some sort of in-game hint that tells where to find it, like how Ramus in SSSC tells about the hidden game on the "Making Of" disc, but I've just missed it? It's such a random place to hide a Bromide.

There was a book that hinted to it, but it didn't flat out give it away. And you can get it whether you have any bromides or not.

And I think it was just an easter egg for people who were around during the Dark Scimitar conflicts on the internet.

Neo-Vane? You sure? If so, that's something that was found later, because the main room in Vane was the only place I knew of.

Sorry for the misunderstandment. I meant that I couldn't remember if it was found in Neo-Vane or in regular Vane. It's been years since I've played the game. I just worded that wrong is all.

Where was this book? In Vane? And what does it say?

The book was in Vane's library in the upper corner I think. It was a creepy message (Which hinted something about a curtain) covered in something red that Hiro thought was Jelly at first... but then he decided it was better not to think about it.

Yes, it's solely an easter egg; it's not really meant to be found. The only reason its existence is so publicized is that someone found it with a cheat device. :P There are some really, really obscure hints to it in the guide, but the legit way to find it was discovered largely because of hints from someone to whom the info had been leaked by a WD ex-employee. Having the other bromides has nothing to do with it AFAIK. I also seem to recall you can get it at any point in the epilogue, even after defeating the Star Dragon.
