Have you ever wondered what happened to some places that appeared in Lunar 1 but have disappeared in Lunar 2?
For ex, the village of Burg. The White Dragon Cave still exists, but where is Burg? Why did some places from Lunar 1 disappear?
Why do you think some places are missing from Lunar 1?

This really should go in General Lunar...
The same reason the geography is significantly different: a thousand years passed. Caldor Isle seems to have gotten pretty much iced over, at least the part where Burg was, for example. Nall probably kept his cave there out of sentiment, but of course the other dragons' aren't really in the same places that they used to be, most notably the Black Dragon.

It's been suggested on here before, and I'm a bit inclined to believe, that the map of Lunar 2 is angled slightly different than that of Lunar 1. Like, walking North on the Lunar 1 map might be the equivalent of walking slightly northwest on the Lunar 2 map. That, coupled with the continental shifts that may have happened in the millenia between the games, could account for the Grindery's new location.
Also, the Grindery has wheels, and it's possible that in the space between the games somebody tried to move it again.
And as for the Dragon Caves' locations, it's likely that the Dragons change the locations of their caves occasionally.

ARGH! I had a really nice post to this, but since it was long and I don't want to re-type everything, so I herby declear a mandatory Phyco Shortening of Sentences Session:
1850, yadda yadda gold rush, cities with hundreds of thousands of people appeared, yadda yadda no economy, natural disasters, diseases, etc etc etc, within a month everyone disappeared from some of those massive cities, yadda yadda, 100 years later you can't even tell some massive cities where there, etc etc etc... imagine what a 1000 years could do.
HAH!

The simplest explanation for the Grindery's change in position is developer negligence. In Lunar: The Silver Star, it was much closer to Meribia when Alex entered it (in was a bit north of Meribia I think). In Silver Star Story, the Grindery stopped in a very different position than it was in originally, and the developers of the EB remake made no attempt to uphold the continuity change.Blue_Goddess wrote:but why do you think The Grindery had moved it's position? and why did the position of the Blue Dragon Cave change?
And can't the Dragons decide to move?

Shiva Indis is actually spot-on. The SSS novels clearly indicate that dragons will often change their location, which is why Nash in the beginning needed a guide to get to the White Dragon, and why the group needed to research in the Library of Vane for days on end to find out about the locations of the other three.Blue_Goddess wrote:but why do you think The Grindery had moved it's position? and why did the position of the Blue Dragon Cave change?
It also fills in a little plothole about Ghaleon needing Alex to guide him back to the White Dragon. KF
