Actually, just went to the store to pick up Dissidia, and asked them about Lunar. They have in their systems now 12/8/2009.

Just got back to the office and went online, and the site at gamestop now says the same date.

It won't be out by December 8th, for sure.

I dunno, if XSEED has been working on a translation since the announcement, it's possible.

I think that XSEED has been working on it since late May early June or whenever the original announcement was made. But if precedent is accurate then it'll be at least another 6 to 8 months...

So I'm still hoping for a Christmas release or at least a January/February release.

Except that XSEED anounced the game around E3, when most companies announce new games regardless of how far along a title is.

To make it perfectly clear, I asked XSEED about it last week. Early 2010 was the answer. There is no official date but they made it pretty clear that 2009 was too soon. Sucks, but then, they never gave a date to begin with. I'm sorry to rain on everyone's parade, but it's just not happening.

Okay, I am officially not paying attention to any release dates from now on until they come directly from XSEED. My poor Lunar-loving heart just can't take being bandied about like this.

Agree 100% To me, the release date for the US is "TBA". When it actually gets released in Japan, THEN I'll listen to release dates for the US...

Aw well, at least I'll be graduated by then. So I'll either have time to play or working (hopefully both)...

Pretty cool they answered like that though. Most companies always give that formal "we can't tell you that" line.

Well, they didn't really answer it. It was more of me being like "Hey, just curious if you know what kind of date you're looking at." for purposes of getting it right for LunarNET. Which I still need to update to reflect that.

Interestingly, GameStop now lists January 12th.

Meh, I don't care, I'm getting it from Japan anyway. =P
