Yeah, I just saw that too. Sucks. While his personal life deteriorated bigtime over the years, I still remember how much I loved Thriller as a little kid. Even now, when I hear Billie Jean, Thriller or Beat It, I have to start tapping my foot to it.

Yeah it's a very sad day. Although he had a crappy personal life his music was great. The video game he had on the Gensis was pretty good too.

Definitely a sad day! THE king of pop is dead... wow. I'm sure a lot of people are going crazy throughout the world right now. I also imagine that an unprecedented ammount of michael jackson tunes are being played at once in tribute. Heck, I'm listening to his Greatest Hits Volume 1 album right now!

I found out first from YTMND, of all the absurd places. Someone had posted a dedication, and this was when different news sources were only reporting comas and so on.
It's... just odd. He's just always been there, a part of the culture. In elementary school, we all tried to do the moonwalk. And now he's gone.

Re: Michael Jackson is dead!
This does suck. I grew up with several of his songs.
Though this is how my texts to several various friends essentially went:
"He's dead!"
"No, wait, he's in the hospital"
"Argh, no, he's dead!"
"Wait, damnit, he's in a coma"
"No, its official, he's really dead!"

I can't believe it. My mom is really upset about it. This is so sad.
Re: Michael Jackson is dead!
This is seriously the end of an era. Even though his musical success has been pretty lackluster in recent years and completely overshadowed by his personal life, I know that a lot of people were looking forward to his upcoming tour and the possible comeback of the King of Pop. A lot of dreams were crushed yesterday. Regardless of what you think of him as a person, I don't think anybody can ignore the impact he had on the worlds of music and dance. Truly a huge loss for us all. Pretty shocking experience. I'm lucky to have been around during some of his career, I suppose. Now many future generations will view Michael Jackson the way that my generation viewed people like John Lennon and Elvis - gone before we could appreciate them in life.

Interesting story right there. I remember I couldn't access Michael Jackson on Wikipedia. Interesting how a single celebrity's unfortunate death caused this.
Greensky: Because of all the rumors flying around, if I don't see this story verified by cnn, fox, cbs, msnbc, or tomshardware, then I'm going to dismiss that as wishful thinking.

This article is completely made up. They even switch the son and father's names around in their own article. They didn't try very hard.Greensky wrote:Jordan Chandler admits he lied about Michael Jackson

Re: Michael Jackson is dead!
I really appreciated his music, but no matter how much I want to like him, one thing stays in my mind. It's his interview where he said that he believed that there was nothing wrong with sleeping with little children.
Some of the answers in this post are made of frozen lose with whipped failsauce topping and suck sprinkles......
Re: Michael Jackson is dead!
To be fair, you're taking that completely out of context AND misquoting him. He said there was nothing wrong with opening up your bed to children, but not sleeping with them. He said specifically in the same part of that interview that he slept on the floor.Aquaignis wrote:I really appreciated his music, but no matter how much I want to like him, one thing stays in my mind. So? I slept in the same bed as my mom until I was like, 9 or so. Doesn't mean anything. Why does the world have to take innocent things and twist them into highly sexualized thoughts? What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Last I checked, he was proven not guilty. Even then, who the heck are we to judge? Death is punishment, and if there is a God, then he's in Hell for eternity. So, again, whats the big deal?

People like to believe whatever they think is more entertaining. Reality is generally boring and people don't like that.
