Generally I ignore stuff like this...

General talk. News, religion, politics, your daily life, whatever, it goes here. Just keep it clean.

Generally I ignore stuff like this...

Post by GhaleonOne »

But this one just pissed me off due to the extremely ignorant and arrogant nature of the email.

Just got this Email in my inbox for LunarNET:

"hurry up and finish the hole site, jesus its not that dificult if you loved lunar it
would allready be done"

Because, you know, I'm obligated to spend my life making someone like this happy. I can see why the owners of LunarEB and LunarHope might loose interest and shut down if they got crap like this. I'm actually contemplating posting his Email address to let anyone who feels like sending him an email do so. But I'll think on that one for now. Just thought some of you might be interested in reading the not so nice side of running a fan-based website.

I don't think that you should post his email. But I think you should send him a message like, "If you loved Lunar, you would make your own site." Just something subtle.

Wow. I hope that wasn't someone who posts here already.

And really, there's SO MUCH content on this site, what does he have to complain about?

I probably won't. It would be extremely unprofessional of me, but just for once, it would be kind of fun. :P Probably more trouble than it would be worth in the end.

Though I do like your suggestion. I was also thinking about a auto-response type thing:

"Thank you for your Email. It's wonderful to hear from the best of the Lunar fanbase, such as yourself. While we do appreciate your kind words, please understand that we can't respond to everyone. We hope you have a wonderful day, and we value your continued support of our humble website.

Sincerely,
LunarNET Staff"

That was always at the back of my mind. We'll have to discuss it tomorrow.

Hmmm, you have two choices, and both are fun. Choice one, be nice and make them feel like and ass and make other's see them as an ass. Always fun for irony. Or, be an ass, which too can be fun, but might backfire and alienate new comers if the word spreads that the owner is an ass.

Still, despite there being so much more to do to Lnet, I fail to see why you should "hurry up and finish it." I've known the site for about 5 years now, and I have yet to still look over all of it. I would think that Lnet is one of the largest, if not THE largest, Lunar website around.

Heh, if you can send an image, one of Borgan's oh-so-lovely bromide would be fitting.

As for the e-mail, well, some people are just plain unreasonable. The amount of information on LunarNET is quite staggering (especially considering the screenshots section, and translations!) so for someone to send an email like that is just plain funny. Rude as well, though. There are lots of people out there -myself included- who appreciate your hard work on the site though, so please keep that in mind, as I'm sure you do,

I agree with Phyco. This website is very well made, and full of all sorts of awesome information on the Lunar series. The fact that GameArts was willing to make this the official site for Lunar Legend and Lunar: Dragon Song should attest to that.

Maybe this is a good time to demonstrate how much we appreciate the site. G1, where should we address the strip-o-gram?

There is a simple solution to this.

Alternate yahoo/msn/gmail account + pictures of a quite disturbing nature found all over the internet + tinyurl + send button.

I mean, if you're not planning on taking the high road that is.

Exactly. Rumours spread like wild fire over the internet now that broadband is easily available...^_^

Think it is not advisable to respond to the dude by making him look like the ass instead. It is way too easy for a website to get bad reputation. I personally have seen too many blogs get bad reputations as the owner can't accept some asinine comments and retaliated. Good times, good times...

Dude this site works just fine...

Am I the only person here who agrees with this observent person's Email?

Anyone who really knows G1, knows that he only uses this site for his huge ego and could care less about finishing the site. I have proof. I AIM'ed him yesterday about it:

G1: Very well. What do you want ?
WD: I was wondering why the site isn't finished?
G1: -Fatal Hopper- you, you piece of -Dragon Diamond-. -Borgan-, I don't owe you nuthin, you mother -Fatal Hopper- -Dragon Diamond- hole whore monkey!!!!!

Thank you WD... that was beautiful. XD

As far as the email goes, what is that guy's deal? I have never had a complaint about this site and the vast amount of content it provides me on a daily basis. I look forward to updates yes, but I don't see it as necessary to demand them. The form letter G1 wrote would be quite fitting I think.
