I, for one, welcome our rodent overlords.

I guess it makes sense, though. The comic book industry has been hemorrhaging money for years. Disney can make money from releasing hundreds of straight-to-video movies each year.

geez. those awful sequels did worse things to my childhood than rule34 ever did.

i have deeply mixed feelings about disney. i wanted to be a disney animator when i was a kid. they stopped doing 2d animation when i was in college (in college majoring in animation, har har. yes, i'm bitter.)--and you know the only reason the frog princess is coming out is they wanted to get their hooks into the little black girls' wallets. which, you know--yes, black girls should certainly be represented in the whole little princess shtick disney has going, but, damn. i'm kind of disgusted that it took them this damn long, and that they're so blatant about their merchandising reasons.

but, they're also the ones bringing over studio ghibli films.

but they're also responsible for high school musical. and all the worst sugar-coated shlock i have to watch when i babysit. and pirates of the caribbean 3.

but i totally wanted to be ariel when i was little. call it the confused budding of my feminism.

but i'm a comics artist now, and it kinda feels like my estranged father moved in next door.

that's not hyperbole.

maybe i'll just go get drunk and debate the pros and cons of this with a wall instead of the internet.

I'm currently writing the script where Scrooge McDuck teams up with Lex Luthor.

Is nothing sacred??
Guess that explains why they were airing Marvel cartoons on the Disney XD channel.

QUIET YOU! Whatever the Lex Luthor analog is in Marvel since they all plagiarize off of each other anyway.

This should in no way be surprising.

Disney has been expanding its media empire for quite a while now. They're one of several sinners in regard to the monopolization of media.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_as ... _by_Disney

Highlights:

Touchstone Pictures
Miramax Films
Dreamworks
ABC, Inc.
A&E Television
History Channel
Biography Channel
Hyperion Books
ESPN

Essentially, they're the largest media and entertainment company in the world.

I read this yesterday while eating with my friends during a break between my classes. We were all like...O_o...

But yeah, I guess my US History/Current Events teacher I had in high school was right...Disney is the ultimate evil trying to take over the world.

why yes, yes they did.

did you really think the internet would let something as "oh, exploitable" as a hand escape?

haha. i don't know whether to go "yep, you got me" or deny everything.

i know it's a sleepy little board, but (mein gott) we've been here for the last 13 years, so it's kinda all homey and stuff now.

i've never actually even played a lunar game.

I think 4chan has grown (devolved?) to the point where it permeates even the most seemingly harmless corners of the internet.

Woah woah woah, back off there. She's cool. If we're gonna burn anyone there are much better targets.
