Halloween Plans
Happy Halloween everyone!
Is anyone doing anything particularly exciting this year? It's going to be a low key Halloween for me,after work i'll be passing out candy w/ the hubby. I decided to ditch the parties this year, I must be getting old.

Re: Halloween Plans
Nah, not really. I went to a Halloween party last year that my friend threw. This year she works, so no party.
Although, I will be playing some more Castlevania games today. I've dedicated this whole month to beating all the Castlevania games I had never beaten (which was quite a lot) I've already beaten a total of 9 Castlevania games I had never beaten. To my knowledge, I only have 5 more to go. So, I won't be beating all of them this month, but I knocked a good chunk of them down.

I'll be handing out many bags of chocolatey goodness. Unfortunately, I'm sick.

Re: Halloween Plans
I will be participating in a masquerade wedding tonight, with an expensive rented costume dress and expensive hair styling. It should be fun, now that I'm almost done punishing my bank account. ^_^

Re: Halloween Plans
I went to an early Halloween party last night. As for today, I don't really have anything "Halloween" planned to do. My big activity for today was going to a football game (and in the process getting to watch the Badgers smack around Purdue to the tune of 37-0).

Re: Halloween Plans
I'm not going out. I'm beat from last night and so on. So my plans are just to lounge around in my comfy Jedi robe which I bought when I thought I'd have the energy to go out. Still a win. ^_^

Re: Halloween Plans
Right now, I'm sitting at my coffee table with the bowel of candy, watching a movie called "Imagine That", surfing the net on my laptop, talking to friends on IM. I'm pretty comfortable.

Re: Halloween Plans
I went to one friend's house and watched "Brother's Grim." When two of the four of us left to go work at a haunted house, the forth and I left to check out the mall and theater...nothing interesting so we went and hung out at her house for a few hours...now back in the dorm. I count that as a pretty good Halloween.
Some of the answers in this post are made of frozen lose with whipped failsauce topping and suck sprinkles......

Okay, so I actually did dress up and go out as a country Jedi. I basically put on my leather cowboy hat and Jedi robe, strapped on a lightsaber and talked in a very very heavy southern accent.

Re: Halloween Plans
Shiva how was the wedding? That sounds like it would have been fun. Ardent nice costume! Phyco sorry u were sick. All and all it sounds like all of us ended up having a nice Halloween.
We had a grand total of 15 (aprox) kids show up for candy. It was actually a lot for our neighborhood. Kids have less manners than they used to. We had a few groups where the kids attacked the bowl before we could hand them the candy. I couldn't believe it. =) It wasn't like that when we were kids was it?

Re: Halloween Plans
I don't remember ravaging a bowl of candy when I trick or treated. I always waited for the person to hand them to me. Course a few people around our neighborhood just left their candy bowls out for kids to come by and take whatever.

Re: Halloween Plans
It was really wierd, actually. For being a warmer night than usual, added with it being a weekend, not that many kids showed up. There were plenty of groups, but in all the amount of kids were very low. However, about that rude thing, none of the kids where rude, but I was taken aback by the lack of euthusiasm and most didn't bother saying "trick or treat!" They would knock, stand there with this look on their face like "Hurry up and give me some candy loser" and have their sacks open. The child in me died a little. I remember as a kid, hundreds of kids on the same street, all very excited and screaming trick or treat!, couples setting up hot chocolate and hot coffee stands (because its often between 20 - 40 degrees on Halloween here) for the parents... *sigh*

Re: Halloween Plans
Thats a good point Phyco there where a few kids who did not say trick or treat. My inner dialog was saying, "WTF why aren't these kids excited about getting free candy. It's as if they just expect strangers to shower them with goodies like they automatically deserve it." It is kind of a drag really.

Re: Halloween Plans
Thanks for asking! ^_^ It went great, aside from some flower issues - all the ladies had to make their own bouquets about 30 mins before we went to the venue. Only the bride knew anything about flower arrangement, so we'll see how that turns out. I don't have any pictures yet, other than a couple I took on my phone. I wish I had a picture of the cake - the bride and groom described it as a 'Seussian monstrosity', which it was. It was also delicious.Monde Luna wrote:Shiva how was the wedding?
