I'm not a big fan of V-day. I got dumped on V-day last year. The irony being one of the things I liked about the girl was that she didn't put a lot of importance on overcommercialized holidays.

I'm not a big fan either. A couple of my relationships have gone over Valentine's Day, but I can't say that I have any real special memories from them. My last relationship ended a little over two years ago so I'd probably just hole up at home with books and games on that day but I have to "work" as well,.

I recall seeing a statistic somewhere, the conclusion of which was that couples are more likely to fight on V-day and vacations than any other time.

I wish I could recall where I read this. 96.4% of statistics are dragon diamonds (including this very one,) but the above smacks of truth.

haha yeah, it's a black hole for unnecessary drama. In my last relationship the girlfriend's birthday was on Feb 2. With Valentine's just 12 days later I found myself strapped for creativity for both. That was such unecessary stress.

My gf works on V-Day, but were planning to go see a few movies in a few weeks.

If you think having a Bday and Vday together was bad... My gf's bday is 12-12, our anniversary (5 yrs, going on 6 now) is 12-17, and then Xmas.. argh.

However, I got her around $150 worth of American McGee Alice stuff, she seems happy.

I never noticed the holiday before being with someone. Im not into balloons and plush and Im not big on chocolate. Id rather just spend time together because we dont see eachother much even though we live together because of college/work.
