April Fools?

Post by Kizyr »

Yeah, we got nothing special for April 1st. Sorry guys... I didn't even pull any office hijinks or Facebook shenanigans this year. I'm getting rusty...

Any good ones y'all noticed? There's the Google Maps Pac-Man thing of course, but anything else? (In case you need the link: https://www.google.com/maps, switch to map view, and click the Pac-Man icon.) KF

I really liked the Minecraft April Fools. They issued a patch announcement with a list of peace-related features. They reported replacing the hunger and health bars with a single "love" bar, and removing all of the graphical settings.

The best part is that it's an actual playable patch. I goofed around in it for a bit - it was a lot of fun hitting spiders and having creepers blow up into flowers.

I don't think it's actually an April Fools joke, but com.google is kinda funny.

Amazon reverted to its 1999 look, which I vaguely remember. Though it was probably a few years before I started using it.

I liked the retro Amazon joke. I didn't use it back then, but it definitely looks like what the internet used to be back then!
It's an interesting look at how art evolves.

LOVED the PacMan google maps!!! It's like I can play Pac Man at anyone's house!
Dunno if last year or longer ago but there was a Dragon Quest maps too which was sweet.

I had a friend refuse to believe me when I tried telling her about the Google Maps PacMan. Even after sending her a picture... yeah she still didn't buy it. I don't know if she realized the truth or not. Either way, I had plenty of fun playing it.
