Yes, it's me...

Goddess Althena, I feel like such a slacker sometimes...

Anyway, I only just found out that these forums exist (yes, I am such a ditz).

For those of you who are wondering, I am the Dragonmaster Lou, of the old school Lunar home page. The guy who ran the old Lunar mailing list and who ran the old Lunar mailing list. Oh yeah, I also wrote the TSS and EB FAQs on GameFAQs.com.

So I was stumbling on here when I found out that DS was out and discovered these forums. I was like "Holy Unchi! Active Lunar Discussion Areas!"

So I am finally here... and I'm looking forward to good old Lunar discussions, hopefully without the flame wars that doomed the old mailing list.

Its about time you came back Lou! I used to visit your awesome site back in the 90's. I left for around 3 or 4 years myself. I came back and tried to look at all the old Lunar sites and they were all gone and it was kind of sad. Good to see someone old return.

EDIT:

http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Lair/2805/links.html

This was the site I found all the links to the old sites but most are gone now. Thos were in the glory days of Lunar when there were about 50 fan sites.

Hey, my site is still online (although I haven't updated it in Althena knows how long):

http://www.techhouse.org/~lou/lunar/

Part of me wants to update it more... but with a site as extensive as this one, it's hard to motivate myself to do so...

Besides, I spend more time working on anime music videos (including Lunar ones) than HTML these days. :)

...!!! Dragonmaster Lou! Now THIS is a welcome surprise! Lots of old timers are showing up, but you're the top of the Lunar dogpile! I remember you as being the head honcho in Lunar fandom when I first got started in this stuff. It was because of you, the owner of the Blue Star site and Rune's Shrine to Ghaleon that I even wanted to do a Lunar site! Wow, this is actually an honor to just have you on the boards! ^_^

Why thank you. You're making me... well...

Yeah, it's good to be here... I've noticed a few other old timers hanging out here too... :)

DM Lou's site was probably my first favorite website before it disappeared way back when. Welcome.

DM Lou! The original!

Well this is a welcome site. Yours was the first Lunar site for a whole lot of people; myself included (Rune's was my second). Heh, seeing it brings me back... to, like, 1996. KF

Thanks Kizyr and drumlord. Heh, good to see I'm not the only guy from RI on here. :)

And 1996 was a good year in many respects... Although I think working on my Lunar page back then may have hurt me in school...

Heh, I've seen your name so often in discussions of oldtime Lunar fandom. A legend come to life! ^_^ I was disappointed to have missed what seems like a golden age of fandom, so it's neat to find out you actually exist and still have an interest in Lunar.

Wow, welcome to the board! Like Alunissage said, we've heard a lot about you and some of the others back then... I really hope you enjoy it here!

I remember the Lunar ML. I still think back sometimes to the members' ecstatic impressions of the SSS intro movie back after it was released on Saturn. :) I remember I really wanted to download it, but the 7 megs-or-so was so big...

I frequented your site back in the day, it was the place to be after all, and I was glad to find a while back that it was ressurected. I hope you stick around. :D

Damn, you guys are making me feel so good for coming here. :)

Thanks, all of you... Heh, I never created my site with the intention of becoming some kind of legend or anything... I still don't know if I qualify as a legend, but it certainly is nice to be welcomed so warmly.

Hey, Lou!

I'm surprised you didn't know about this place. Shame on you. ;) Didn't you know? People still talk about you.

Well, I knew about the lunar-net.com website... I guess I never noticed the forums until just a couple days ago...

And you wonder why Blake/Ebony called me "Dragon-Ditz," eh? :)

Say, what name did you used to go by on the Lunar-L?

Heh, and I remember those large vids. I left my 75MHz 28.8kpbs computer online for 4-5 hours to download that one 35MB music video. Had to delete a few programs to fit that on my 800MB HD.

Golden Age, maybe. But the technology was still irritating.

Well... being the 'first' really counts for a lot, sometimes. I mean, this was back when most everything was hosted on Geocities or university accounts, when free hosting meant tons of pop-ups. So having a good site in that mix, and the first on Lunar, was a bigger deal than it might seem now in retrospect. KF

Well well well, how about this! I remember your website (umong nearly all the other dead fansites now) before I found Lnet. When I saw this post, I was thinking "Wait a minute, that SN sounds familiar, I know that from somewhere...." So, welcome!

Hey! *The* Dragonmaster Lou is back? It's amazing, I have always envisioned you moving on in life, and I didn't think you'd return. I've read the SCD Eternal Blue Frequently Asked Questions so many times, and that's how I first came across the name "Dragonmaster Lou." I definitely consider you one of the most noteworthy people in the Lunar fanbase. I read some of your old Usenet posts and I'm sure Victor Ireland would remember you, unless you've kept in contact with him after all these years. Good to see you back!

Aww, thanks! :)

It's funny... while in some ways I have moved on in life (finished school, got a job, and now I'm engaged), I never stopped being a Lunar fan. It's just that part of the reason I had so much time for the fandom years ago was my slacking in other, important areas of my life. Now I don't slack as much, but then again I also have more free time (although having a fiancee does cut into that a bit -- not that I mind, hehe).

I haven't kept in contact with Vic at all. I kinda got pissed at him over the dropping of Lunar for the Saturn (long before I knew that Game Arts had a black project to port it to the PSX). I'm also sure that my petition / letter writing campaign to keep Lunar on the Saturn also didn't go over too well with him. Still, I didn't hold a grudge, and I even applied to work at WD as a programmer once my college graduation was approaching. If you're curious, no, I didn't get an offer (not too surprising, given how small they are), but I don't remember even getting a polite "don't call us, we'll call you" letter from them like I did from most of the other companies I applied to. Other than that, I have no idea if Vic remembers me or what his current opinion of me would be. *shrugs*
