DS Games to buy

Post by DragonSong »

Can anyone recommend some DS games?

So far, these are the games I'm looking forward to:

Nintendogs (coming out tomorrow in my region)
Castlevania DS
Lunar:DS
Fullmetal Alchemist DS

I was also planning on getting Ganbare Goemon, but I don't think I'll get it as I've heard it's JAP only.

What else should I consider? So far I've only got 1 g\ame: Mario 64ds which I completed 100% two days ago...

Advanced Wars DS is supposed to be good, and Mario Kart comes out around Christmas I think (unless that was in Japan).

I've never played advance wars before... It's supposed to be good.

I've heard good things about WarioWare and feel the magic (Or Project Rub as it's called in the UK) But I read that WW is a little short...

Speaking of Meteos it's fun but a version of Panel DePon (Tetris Attack) is coming out for DS this Winter. It's a much better puzzle game.

I'd recommend Trauma Center and Lost in Blue based on the number of people at my work who are playing that. I'd recommend Nintendogs as well (since that's the #1 DS game in the office) except that you already have it listed.

Despite the fact it's short, replay value adds up a LOT to the fun of WarioWare: Touched!.

I'd recommend:
- WarioWare: Touched!
- Metoes
- Polarium
- Phoenix Write: Ace Attorney
- Trauma Center: Under The Knife
- Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Those are my personal favorites and I love playing them all.

For the records...

While it's a Game Boy Advanced game, not a DS, do pay attention to Gunstar Super Heroes. The first one was a wonderful little game for the Genesis, and the sequel looks like it's as good as the old one.

Mario Kart comes out in November I beleive, with online gameplay. That's the reason I bought a wireless router.

But Fullmetal Alchemist DS hasn't even been announced for a North American/European release yet. There's a good chance it wont come for us, what with the previous gameboy advance FMA games never coming here. But you never know... now that we have the card game here and most of the episodes have aired in English dub, it's possible.

^^yeah, I was planning on importing...

I have nintendogs now BTW it's better than I thought it would be.
It was the last one in store as I didn't preorder(and I had just walked 3 miles into town too) So i was kinda lucky there.

I'm going to get Lost in Blue as well.

if you can import, Jump Superstars is a definite must-have.

but as far as the states go, the real big ones are
-advance wars. i own this game, reviewed it for touchds.com. its amazing. buy it.
-Meteos. i hated puzzle games until i played this one, and then i couldn't stop playing.
-Castlevania-I've only played a few minutes of this game, but the action definitely is great and 100 great reviews do not lie....
-Kirby:Canvas Curse. A really really fun pick-up and play game with tons of replay value and very innovative way to play.

those are pretty much the top 4 in my opinion. the others are good, but not super awesome like these. nintendogs is fun but it got kinda old after a while >.>

I believe Animal Crossing DS will be interesting. I never played it on the larger system but it seems to be pretty fun.
Glad to here you're getting Lost in Blue, that's an awesome game.

I just noticed an action RPG that Taito has in the works called Lost Magic that might be interesting. Different combinations of runes which you draw in form different spells. The art direction and character designs come from a verteran of Studio Ghibli and the World Masterpiece Theater anime institution. It sounds promising.

Nintendo is coming out with a new 2D Mario game (the New Super Mario Brothers) that looks totally awesome, but it's still a few months off.

uhhhh why does everyone love nintendogs so much???

i mean, i have a real dog, so mabye thats why the game doesnt look the least bit interesting to me, but it seems to me just like those tomagachi things, except dogs and better graphics on the DS. anyway u wanna see it, i would never buy any of those games (how many are there? and for what reson are there more than one???) just doesnt look fun at all, and this is solidly MY opinion.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

Can't recommend this game enough. A 20-hour text-based anime-style adventure game that's nothing but funny and fun.
