Nice to see Ico getting some love that is probably one of the most recent games that actually blew me away, they did so much with so little.
But how about Zombies Ate My Neighbors i mean c'mon that game is epic 50 levels with wacky weapons and monsters, great level design and a fair amount of difficulty and theres a co op mode thats one of the best 2 player games on genesis.

I just cracked open Space Channel 5 this morning to pay homage to "Space Michael."
Great that it makes your top ten.
And... Castle Shikigami 2? Really? My ex bought it and we played it for a while. It's great fun, but the cutscenes and dubbing are just horrible, if... hilarious.

I'm just glad to see Dragon Force getting some love, as it's a forgotten gem these days. It really sucks that WD went under when it did, because that PS2 Dragon Force port/upgrade would have been tailor-made for them.
And cj, nice to see another NG2 fan. The music in that game alone made it worthwhile. The storyline was actually quite good for a non-RPG of it's time

The dubbing is up there with 'so bad it's good'.
I like girls. But now it's about justice!
It's a really good game, horrible dub aside, and it has an interesting plot if you can piece it together(good luck).
Dragon Force is still leagues ahead of most modern strategy RPGs. Shame we didn't get the remake or to a lesser extent the sequel. It's mostly mediocre, but I've played worse.

Happy to see Shenmue on a few lists. Most underrated game ever. And G1, I thought Grandia was on your old top ten lists.
Monde, Willy Beamish as HM? I almost put that in but was afraid of persecution.

WD RPG WD there is just something about Willy Bemish that is addictive and entertaining. At the time WB was different than anything I had ever played before. It might even be my favorite non RPG game. I wasn't afraid of persecution
but I didn't think anyone would even remember WB. WB was fun, it required some logic, and it was surprisingly difficult. I always got stuck at the part with the frog. To this day I don't think I ever beat the game. I think the SegaCD broke before I could fix it. I also enjoyed the fact that it gave you something to do while the game was loading even if it was as simple as moving a snake around the screen.

Can we include a series or does it have to be individual games? I'll edit my list accordingly
If it's by game it makes it so hard, I'd have to kick some of my favorites off the list Dx
1) Lunar 1
2) Lunar 2
3) Gabriel Knight 1
4) Gabriel Knight 3
5) Silent Hill 1
6) Final Fantasy X
7) Final Fantasy 3 (Eng, not JPN)
8) Shadow of Destiny
9) Rhapsody
10) Shadow Hearts
Honorable Mentions: Popful Mail, Phoenix Wright 3, Starcraft
So hard! xD

It'll need to be by game, otherwise it'll be too hard to add up, since we've already started that way.

Is there any chance we can do a top 20?
Anyhow, I edited my list, it was really hard because I've played SO many good games, a lot of which have been listed by others... but even though most of the ones I listed probably don't have much of a chance I still had to list them anyways, they deserved to be on the big list with the others

Maybe next time.
Also, if you haven't posted yours and still wanna, post away. I'll give until Sunday night before I start counting it up.

In Snatcher the code that changes the cutscenes back to the PC Engine, does that work? i could never tell, i looked for the dogs intestines to twitch, looked for the shower scene and i don't recall any difference after the code. Was there some more blood and gore type stuff that they covered up that i wasn't noticing?

It doesn't change the scenes in fact, it does nothing besides play Konami sounds. It may have originally been intended to do something but got edited out.
Jeremy Blaustein who localized Snatcher (and the original Metal Gear Solid for Playstation) has confirmed this in a few interviews. He did a rather infamous podcast interview some years ago where he confirmed this (and ripped on Konami).

I think Terranigma, Illusion of Gaia, and Tales of Destiny deserve more credit but nice list.

So Super Mario World gets a score of 3, and no other Mario platformers in the entire list? That's unexpected.
