By itself? Not really. BUT it's a great compliment to an existing diet/workout routine in that it helps you keep track of how you're doing and offers suggestions and advice.

The Yoga is especially worth it, as it keeps track of your center of balance on screen. It helps to make sure you're doing it right.

If you don't already have the 1st Wii Fit, skip it and just get Wii Fit Plus. It's everything the original was, with more features and customization.

I hear that there is a Wii meditation coming out. Will I be able to achieve transcendence?

Only if it comes with mushrooms. Most other popular Nintendo games do, after all.

Only if it pops it up like an achievement screen like with XBOX

The wii fit can be slightly depressing though because unless you are a normal body weight it gives you a disapproving sound every time you weigh yourself. But it is kind of fun... As for the yoga I still find it's better to take a real yoga class. If you are shy or money is an issue it's I recommend the wii fit.

Planks are a killer

It also makes your Mii look twice as big as you when you rank overweight or obese.

BMIs are tricky anyway.

I found that WiiFit itself doesn't work. I just starting running and using an elliptical and I started losing weight.

Or play DDR.
