Grandia Creator Takeshi Miyaji Dead at 45

Post by Nobiyuki77 »

Such a sad day for me, he was only 45

http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2011/0 ... aji_death/
G-Mode issued a statement today announcing that its CEO Takeshi Miyaji died suddenly on July 29. Miyaji was 45 years old.

Miyaji is known for his work at Gamearts, a company that he founded at the age of 19 with his brother Yoichi Miyaji. He worked on a number of Gamearts classics, including Silpheed (PC, Mega CD), Gun Griffon (Saturn), and the Grandia series. In 2000, he formed G-Mode.

G-Mode did not share the circumstances of Miyaji's death. Taking his place as CEO of G-Mode will be Ryu Okoriyama CEO of Gaia Holdings.

Such tragic news. Our hopes for anything Grandia may fade away with him if the series isn't of much interest to them. The first two games would make for amazing remakes if they weren't to continue the series.

Tragic. Was he connected to Lunar at all, or more of a producer role?

Of the two, the surviving brother Yoichi Miyaji had more to do with Lunar. Takeshi was a programing-oriented sort while Yoichi was more business-oriented.

Well there goes our dreams for a Lunar 3 and a Grandia 4 :(
Yes, I miss Working Designs and I'm not afraid to admit it. >.>

Also wish that GameArts would get back into action with Shigema and start back up the Grandia and Lunar series.

Grandia and Lunar series= best RPG series ever, yes it even beats Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
(Well just exclude Lunar Dragon Song and maybe Grandia 3 also from the series list.)

The reason why Ghaleon went so ape--Dragon Diamond- was because he had a super boner for Dyne and wanted to screw him but was jealous that Dyne liked them with boobs. ( Ha-ha Yeah in my dreams >.>)

I hope I die at 45... I actually worry about getting older and not being functional. And you skip the mid-life crisis.

But it seems like he had a good life, at least I hope so. See you Miyaji! Thanks for the great games!

Damn, what a loss. 45 is way too early to check out.
