hey i just finished zelda: the windwaker, i know it came out like 2 years ago, but i just got a gamecube. i thought it was pretty good, but i was a little dissapointed that it was rediculasly easy, i mean i only died twice throughout the entire game.

I rather enjoyed it, even if it was short and a few things were repetitive. It was the first 3D Zelda game I thought really felt like the older 2D games.

I never got the chance to play it... and it's extremely cheap now... maybe I should buy it.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I liked lots of bits of it, but found myself getting really bored in the middle with all the sailing. Seems like there were a lot of half-done game mechanics, things that were either a great idea with poor execution or a bad idea with a lot of lavish attention. I really would have liked to see another one in that style with the weak points fixed; as it is, I consider it the weakest Zelda.

But don't let that deter you. If you're not obsessive about getting every last chest and heart piece then a lot of the boring stuff can be skipped, and the dungeons themselves are great. There just aren't very many of them.

yeah i agree that the sailing was kinda boring, especially when you had to go around and find the triforce peices, that was just boring repeditive stupidness. finding the chart, finding the peice, doing that 8 times slowed the game down a lot.

Heh, well to go against the grain a little, WIND WAKER is actually one of my all-time favorite games. I really enjoyed it from start to finish and at the end of the day wouldn't have asked for much different -- in fact, I'd be glad to see another in the same vein.

Really enjoyed the adventure, the comedy, the seamlessness (or fluidity), the uniqueness.

Just good stuff.

And my opinion.

I am looking forward to the newest installment in the ZELDA series as well, if next year.

Curiously, Alunissage, can you tell me who that is in your avatar? As I mentioned in my introduction I'm relatively new to the LUNAR series so if it's a given character from the series or what not, don't strangle me for not knowing. Heh, thanks!

It has nothing to do with EB/EBC. Is your compulsion to post on everything extending to things you know nothing about now?

It's the picture of Althena from TSS (the original SegaCD Lunar 1), hence the somewhat different costume.

Yep. Which is why "where she got the exact picture from" is not by any stretch a spoiler for EBC, nor is the pose the same. Nor is she particularly "young". Interpreting things from the viewpoint of PS-only is no excuse for misinformation, and if you don't know the exact answer you should let people who do (of which there are many on this board) answer it rather than bringing in irrelevancies. The only possible spoilers in there are the ones you introduced.

We have to understand that some will have no idea where the original images come from, because we're oldschool Lunar lovers. Hell, I can't remember certain inconsistencies from time to time, so we just have to be the teachers in that respect. It's all good, and we go on from there.

I know. But if he doesn't know where it's from -- and he doesn't, since he didn't play this game so it's not just a matter of memory -- he shouldn't post a guess as fact. I have no problem with people not knowing where the pic is from and I'm happy to answer that question, but posting a misleading answer = bad, especially when it implies spoilers that aren't there. This hubris of assuming he knows everything because he's played EBC to death is annoying, especially with the points about story changes from the originals to the remakes that have been made lately. He hasn't even bothered to admit he made a mistake or apologize to the person he misinformed and potentially spoiled; he just tried to defend it.

I just hope Texcap knows that none of this at all was directed at him (?). Questions are fine, and I hope you like the picture -- it's my favorite piece of Lunar artwork. ^_^

I've likewise played SSSC to death. I call it young Althena because SSSC Althena has a distinctly older and more mature looking appearance to Dyne's Althena.

That still doesn't change the fact that the image comes from The Silver Star, because it was the first image of Althena we see.

If I can ask another question then, is there a larger version of this floating around anywhere? But I agree, excellent artwork and I look forward to finding out just who the character is as I play further into the game, and into the series'.

(Only 5 hrs. in so far, but I'm having a blast...)

I don't know that there's a higher-resolution one. But I did crop it to fit within the avatar dimensions. I don't have the link at the moment, but there's a site with many TSS images from which I got it.

I actually liked Windwaker a lot, myself.

I would agree that the sailing did get a little tedious, especially when going around and charting everything. It was made a little more tolerable when you could transport. And it largely seemed to be a copy of Ocarina of Time in terms of gameplay, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but loses points on the originality scale.

I did like the art style a lot, though. I felt it had a lot more personality to it than realistically detailed 3D can. I also fel the story-telling improved from the earlier games and it was overall a fun game for me. The last battle was one of my favorites of recent gaming.
