We rented a bunch of horror movies, in addition to our own. I've already gone to 3 Halloween parties this past week and a half (and I really overdid the partying at one...let's just say I was all the entertainment the party needed). We watched some of the movies last night, watching more tonight: Fr...

new site

Hey, if anyone wants to check it out, I finally bought a domain for the theatre group I co-founded: http://www.reannintheatregroup.com The site is still heavily under construction , and I'm still working on the layout, etc. But it's going to host the theatre group my friend Melanie and I founded (in...

new script

If anyone is interested, I have completed revisions on one of my original play scripts: Semblable. It's definitely one of my most "out there" comedies. It's basically a play about a bunch of normal people who get stuck in the home (and world) of an Absurdist character, but the Absurdist ch...

Late 80s horror movie

I recently ordered one of my favorite Halloween-time movies. "Pumpkinhead" It stars Lance Henrikson (Bishop from the "Alien" movies".) It isn't really a GREAT movie, for the fact that it falls into hokeyness at points due to too many soundtrack stingers and the fact that onc...

I've only heard one song from "Last Five Years" and I enjoyed it. Can't remember the name. I once saw someone perform the song from "Songs for a New World" where the lady is on the balcony threatening to her husband (Murray) that she's going to jump. That song actually got my att...

I'm definately of two minds when it comes to Sondheim's works. He's got a bit of a tendency to fall back on writing lyrics that are more clever than insightful. I'm more a fan of Jason Robert Brown myself. I guess I disagree there. Although I will say that I think his work has gotten more emotional...

I have friends who do opera here in Omaha. I don't do opera myself, but I have done a lot of musical theatre. I'm a Sondheim fanatic. I've written a musical script, too, actually, and composed themes for it on the piano. A couple of my friends recently were in "Turandot", which I enjoyed.

We run until Nov. 19th, every other weekend. (We're alternating with the other show I'm in, Macbeth.)

The opening went GREAT. We just had one problem - the guy playing our Teddy in the show was seriously ill last night, and the director had to go on as his character. But amazingly, he did just fine. He only forgot a couple lines, but we were able to fluidly improv around them, so it didn't seem like...

Me too. It's one of those classic comedies that's not run-of-the-mill. And we managed to get a cast that was good enough to create three-dimensional characters and ground the humor in realistic emotions, rather than the stock-character broad comedy thing. It works very nicely. One interesting change...

Take it from someone whose jobs the past four years have all involved constant follow up on important deadlines: People are idiots. You have to hound them. But yes, it's common courtesy to reply "yes" or "no," but not everyone knows that. I always put, in anything I need a respon...

Opening tonight

Well, everyone wish me luck. I'm playing the lead in "Arsenic and Old Lace", and we open tonight. This is the first lead part I've played in years, so I'm hoping I do well. Reviewers from the papers will be here tonight, too. I'm pretty confident things will go well - we have a great cast,...

Sci-fi/Horror film, unknown...

Okay, this is a really weird request... But I'm having one of those moments where I'm remembering something from long ago, and can't figure it out. And I need help. Otherwise, it's going to bug me. Has anyone seen a certain horror/sci-fi film where there's some scene with a woman talking on a phone....

The weather this month has been crazy here, as well. We keep having all these deluges (and toranods), and it's not normal for this time of year.

Okay....well, we went to go see it, but then a tornado warning hit our area 3/4 of the way through the movie and they had to stop all movies and gather people in bathrooms, inner staff rooms, etc... So now I have to go back some time (they gave us free passes at least) and finish watching the movie....

I could barely tolerate watching someone play that. Chrono Cross had more plain shapes and colors than a kindergarten classroom. True. But I rarely play games for that sort of thing. It had one of the best plots to a game I've ever played. And that's usually the deciding factor on a game, for me.

The Black Dahlia

I'm very excited about this movie. For those who knew her, this was one of Coley's favorite books, and she had me read it. The ending is very riveting. And this story is fictional, but it's based off a real murder that happened in California which caused the largest manhunt in the state's history. C...

Maybe try renting the game first just to give the gameplay some more go.

At first I hated Chrono Cross's gameplay, but then it became one of my favorite battle systems ever. And one of my favorite games.

I did some research on this sort of thing a while back. There was a really crazy statistic... I live in Omaha. If I moved to NYC and kept the same kind of job, my salary would increase about 30%. However, my cost of LIVING would increase about 90%. Which means that I could no longer live the kind of...
