Then at least some of this stuff still applies to the remakes, after a fashion. It seems like Shigema changed his mind on so much from TSS...

Say, what name did you used to go by on the Lunar-L? You know, I don't really remember. I probably would've been established under my current username by then, though... At any rate, I think I was pretty much a lurker. But that connection to other fans certainly compounded my excitement about SSS.

I am certainly not opposed to tragic endings. But I'm a bigtime fan, (and I have rather refined sensibilities, if I might say so, ) and most of us here are likewise. And good business sense says that we are about the only people who would find a tragic ending palatable. And then there's the fact tha...

Holy crap, there's a Mother 2 soundtrack CD? It was years after I played Earthbound that I actually became aware that the game had fantastic music. (How I could be so dense, I don't know. I guess because I was young and impressionable, and there weren't people telling me that the music was good like...

Very plausible. It rounds out some doubts I've had while thinking about a post-ending for Lunar DS. Thanks! I've gotta say though, if the developers were thinking something similar to this it's no wonder they ended the game where they did. That's a tragic ending. (This led me to think, prior to play...

I learned something suprising from the book Lunar: The Silver Star World of Lunar and Capture Guide , which I've been posting summaries out of recently... Shigema had the concept that the Dragons are embodiments of Althena's magic power in mind from the beginning of the series. Here's the quote: "Th...

The attack on Pentagulia FMV is not a good source, because the gradiated coloring would've been too difficult in animation that dynamic. In fact, the Blue Dragon has multicolored wings in every appearance in the EB remake EXCEPT that FMV. Actually, it looks like ESP just reused the same image of the...

I suspect she wrote down the route she took to leave the mansion when she went out into the city. It would account for the dirtiness. :D

[spoiler]Angelaalex, you assume that Ignatius' trials were the same as Jian's. That's a lot to assume. Quotes from the dragons support that Ignatius fell after taking the dragon trials. Kyle's Backstory

Here's another summary from the 'Lunar: The Silver Star World of Lunar and Capture Guide' guidebook. Kyle has no kin that he can recall. Since he was responsible for his own wellfare from a young age, he had work-skills like an adult by the time he was 12 - when he decided to go to Meribia and becom...

That pic of pink-haired Althena from the commercial bugged me out, because when I first saw it, I was afraid that those changes would end up in the English version. But as I understand the in-game image is the same in both versions.

[spoiler]There are a lot of things about Ignatius that I think we should have known, but they didn't get fleshed out. My speculation: Ignatius undertook the dragon trials with a pure heart and pure intentions, but at some later point his frustration with Althena led him to forsake her. The game seem...

Judging from the fact that there is no agreement on what the 'trilogy' is named (I like 'Soul Trilogy' personally - got it off of a Japanese website) I'd say that it is simply fans classifing the games together. There is a lot of commonality in themes (balance of light and darkness; helper souls; th...

I think the staff had a plan for the Fortress from the beginning, and it's explosion just wasn't very well realized. The sequence was awkward in a game that had otherwise excellent cinema direction - it stood out. For one thing, it clears up why Althena's Tower was in such a different location in EB.

Dean Williams did a very good job as Borgan - funny, I mainly remember him for being prone to unnatural pauses when providing the voice of Clef in Rayearth. T. Owen Smith is another good actor who appears frequently in WD games, but I like him more for Kazyr and Innova than for Zophar. His outtakes ...

Or perhaps they had to respect Shining Force's monopoly on centaur PCs. :) Very, very interesting though... where did you hear about that??

I did feel that Lunar DS fell short in beastfolk variety. In Lunar 1 they come in so many shapes. The donkey-type ones you see in Meribia stand out to me.
