Thanksgiving with Kizyr.

Was delicious and stressful only because I was so paranoid about it. Such serious business, meeting his family, it kind of legitimizes all this makes it real.

...I was intimidated.

Over New Years, he'll be meeting my folks. Who'da thunk?

I think we'll make it.

So what are your plans for April Fools Day?

I am thinking of tons of ways to misconstrue what you say, or take Werefrog's skeptical route, but I'll go the sincere route and say, "Awwwwwww."

Though it seems kind of silly to me to set that as a benchmark. For both of the long-term girlfriends I've had, I ended up meeting their parents within the first, well, month. In one case it was the third date. XD I'm sure the distances involved make it more meaningful and more daunting though.

Because of the way he is, and his family's culture, meeting his folks is a pretty big deal. Well, at least it is for me.

Werefrog: Lunartic is going to sleep with Kizyr during MAGfest and make us have an explosive break up this April Fools Day.

Kizyr and I being a couple is real.

There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee...that says, fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me...you can't get fooled again.

Family's a big deal, and visiting them requires setting aside a lot of time to go to another state to meet up with them. Also, once enough people know, everyone in my extended family (so, around 200 people) knows. So, yes, it's a major benchmark. That's not even getting into how dating is unusual in my family.

I know not everyone has big connected families that live in other states/countries, so I can see how it might not seem big. But in our case it's pretty much one step removed from engagement. They're already planning our wedding.

When I meet Jenner's family it'll probably be a bit more low-key. KF

Wait they are?

Not because it's less significant though, but because my family sucks.

I want to believe, Jenner. If this were the X-Files and your and Kizyr's romance were some sort of alien or evil spirit or cigarette smoking man, I would be Mulder. But after last year's pregnancy "scare", I'm Scully.

Laugh all you want, but I'm still stealing your man at MAGfest.

Just pointing out that only the second part of that statement is the April Fool's part. KF

If you need a look-a-like to avoid all of these plots, Kizyr, may I volunteer my services as a wedding decoy. ^_^
