Figure you all would like knowing about this:

Victor Ireland's spearheading these releases himself, despite Working Designs' death.

He's awesome. Quote's from the NeoGAF thread.
Hard is the new black. Demon's Souls proved that. :)
Seems like a great time for Alundra to show this new generation what gaming means.
I still own Arc, but I'm definitely getting Alundra.

Any chance of this releasing on European PSN?

Wow, I haven't played Alundra in years. It might be fun to pick up and see how it compares to my memories. (Never knew it was a Working Designs game, though. You learn something new everyday. :D)

I'll probably end up getting Alundra. Once upon a time I owned it, but traded it in for something at some point. Back then I thought Action RPGs were just awful. I've come around to them more recently though.

It would be fun to give Alundra a try. I bought a copy once, but it was a gift for a friend so I never got to experience it myself.

I personally found the Arc the Lad games somewhat underwhelming, so I'm less interested in those.

Thanks for the info! I haven't played either so I might pick one of them up at some point. Thanks to the PSN I just finished playing Suikoden I for the first time. :)

They're both in the US PSN store now. The Arc The Lad Collection let you use memory card data for bonus content in each sequel which was kind of a nice incentive to play the trilogy in order. If Arc II and III are released on PSN I'm not sure that continuation feature is possible without some kind of customization. Still 1 of the 4 games for $5.99 is incredible considering that the original set was around $80.

Arc I was awesome, but short. I really hope Arc II comes out on PSN too.

Sweeet! I hope they do work in the continue from a previous save feature somehow. Arc II was really fun.

I ended up buying both of them. I want to encourage more things like this happening.

I've always wanted to play Alundra, so this is certainly good news. Maybe even Arc the Lad III will come out if all goes well (that one's my personal favorite of the three).

For anyone interested, Arc the Lad 2 is "supposed to" arrive on PSN next week.

I still haven't made it through Arc the Lad. I think I need to level more but I don't enjoy leveling anymore. bah....

end rant... But overall I actually liked the part I played, it was alright.

I haven't played Arc the Lad games, but the second is said to be vastly superior to the first in every way.

The second one is really good, and one of the things I was really impressed with was they way they solved the game duration problem. The first one was great, but only about 6-10 hours until the end. Some players liked it short, but others wanted it to be longer. They solved it by adding the Hunter's Guild which is a location in each town where you can get side quests. They are usually pretty well written, and my friends and I had the same experience where we weren't going to go through all the side quests going into it, but after trying a few we went through the rest because they were so well put together. There are still fetch quests once in a while, but typically they come with twists and things that make them interesting.

wow, im pretty stoked you posted this!
lastnight, my roommate told me that Arc the Lad was on PSN but didnt mention Alundra. i rarely use the PS3 as its in the living room, so i dont browse PSN that much. i will deffinitly be grabbing Alundra. i picked up Alundra 2 when it came out (which was NOT a working designs release?) and then found out about Alundra (being from working designs, which i had fallen in love with fairly recently at the time) but never came across a copy!

Arc II just came out in the US PSN store, and as an added surprise so did Arc Arena. You can also purchase them both in a bundle for $8.99.

Arc Arena lets you fight the enemies you've captured/tamed against each other and is a pretty decent side game. Plus it only takes up 75MB which is nice.
