I'm going to jump on LuNaRtlc's boat... I voted SSSC as it's the only one out of the two that I played, though if ever I could get my hands on it, I would definitely play TSS.

I have to say I prefer TSS as far as gaming goes. I dunno, maybe because with the lack of cutscenes, your imagination got more of a chance to take control. Old school rpgs unfold like reading a good book. SSSC was more interesting graphically. Kinda like reading the book and then going to see the movie. The book is always better, but it's always cool to see it on screen.
Who says you cant have your cake and eat it too!?!

im not sure which one i like best at this point, iv just gotten through myghts tower. The only things i dont really care for is that it dosent mention the effects of items or the stats of the weapons and armor when your buying them. Also didnt like the begining as much, because i didnt get to spend much time with luna. I do like that the dunegons and caves are much easier to get through and there arent as many battles it makes the game seem to move alot faster.Benevolent_Ghaleon wrote:In MOST instances, it seems people like whichever version they played FIRST.

Re: TSS Vs SSSC
I know I'm digging up an old thread, but I just had to give my opinions here. I waited soooooo anxiously for them to release Lunar:SSS on the Saturn and was pretty damn happpy when I got a demo for the Japanese version. Alas, I was both happy and sad. Same can be said when the full version came out...
I personally love TSS more than SSSC, but heres a quick list of pros/cons for SSSC in my opinion:
PROS:
Nice anime cutscenes
More time with Luna
A really beautiful vocal song (the Boat Song specifically)
Nice deluxe American packaging
(One specific little tidbit I liked in the American version of SSSC was how, when the group watches Althena's fortress fall into the lake, you hear the good ol' piano tidbit from the original TSS. Brought a tear to my eye..)
I liked Royce and Phacia...
CONS:
Way worse music
Horrible world map
Yes, you can see the enemies now, but they are all gray and look odd
Battle graphics could have been better (Lunar Legend style)
I think thats it for now.....

Re: TSS Vs SSSC
No doubt about it, TSS. The music is better, the story is better, and many of the characters are portrayed better. What it lacks in graphics it more than makes up for in the aforementioned areas. I still have both versions, and beat them both, though I'll take TSS any day.

Re: TSS Vs SSSC
I played SSSC first, but I have to say that I feel TSS is the better game. Better music, better story, better overworld, easy running system ( ), and I was kind of upset with how they didn't fix the continuity errors in EBC.
The only thing SSSC did much much better, I feel, is better characterization.

Re: TSS Vs SSSC
From a technical standpoint, I prefer everything SSSC did with the game, but I much prefer TSS for what it did with the story. To this day, I still don't know why they changed so much. What was so difficult about Ghaleon's original motives? Why did the means which Dyne lost his powers change? Why is Mia reduced to a borderline bumbling ninny? Why is Nash made considerably more stupid?
