World Cup contest?
We did this 4 years ago and I think did one for the Olympics a few years ago as well. Is there anyone who would be interested in doing a contest for the World Cup (soccer/football) that starts in 10 days? I'd throw out a small Lunar merchandise item as a prize if we did it, but I want to know there's a decent amount of people interested before I do it. So if you're interested, reply. Admin and such would be included.
Oh, and you'd have to beat my picks to win it.

Re: World Cup contest?
It would be a bracket, like those done for the NCAA basketball tournaments. With lots of friendly jibes in between. (You picked England to do *what*?)JeansPast wrote:And how would this work?

I set up a bracket thing at ESPN.com:
http://games.espn.go.com/bpredictor/en-us/frontpage
Sign up/login, then search for the group "LunarNET". You'll need the password "LunarNET" (figured it'd be easy to remember, hah) to add your bracket. Just post your username or bracket name here so we know who you are. I need at least 8 brackets registered by the start of the tournament June 11th or we won't go through with it.
Winner will get a small, but somewhat rare Lunar merchandise item.
Go Brasil! And USA of course. And Ivory Coast (gotta have an African team in there).

Oh, and Sonix, I'm actually worried about your country. I could actually see the USA get a tie against England, then turn around and blow it against you guys or Algeria. Algeria scares me cause they'll kick a team off the pitch.

I'm Sonic565242.
And I don't want to spoil anything, but I might have picked a Netherlands - Argentina final. And no, I have no clue how likely or unlikely that is.

Re: World Cup contest?
Fairly likely. After all these injuries yesterday in trainings and warm-up games, I'd say Brazil, Netherlands, Argentina and Spain are the likeliest to make it. The Dutch are known as the best team to never win it. It's only a matter of time.

Re: World Cup contest?
There's ony 3 entrees with like 15 hours to go. If anyone's interested, better hurry and put one in. If I don't get at least 8 entries, I won't do the contest.

Re: World Cup contest?
I know absolutely nothing about soccer. but what the heck! Random guessing sounds like fun, so I'll do it for the heck of it and set up a bracket. I will lose terribly, but whatever. Time to pick random teams now. ^^;
